I think you're confusing Elfen Lied with another anime. The incest, well, the reference to it, is between the two cousins Kohta and Yuka.

I was a bit confused with this as well. I was thinking that maybe from the dub version the translation got mixed up between cousins and boy or girl friend. If it wasn't it was a really strange thing to throw in there

Beelzebub is good but the manga is better :p

Like i said i recommend Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica, it may sound generic magical girl (i mean it's in the title after all) but honestly it's made me go 'holy crap' more than anything else has for a long time.

plus it's an original work unlike almost everything else these days (95% of new anime are manga or VN or light novel based) so anything can happen, no-one is safe :p

Started watching Death Note friday night, just finished it then. Amazing series and i feel apart of me just died :(
But i have it on my hardrive and i will 100% be watching the series again :)
Just started downloading Cowboy Bebop, heard lots about but i have no idea what to expect but i will be starting it tomorrow night, same imdb rating as Death Note so it should be a good show.

I just want my Muv Luv Alternative anime

but my top five (very hard to pick given how much crap I have watched).

1. Akagi
2. Baccano!
3. Sayonara Zetsbou Sensei
4. Bakemonogatari
5. Gintama

There are several others I'd love to put in. Like Kaiji which is brilliant. The scissors, paper rock arc at the start was great.
And 'snake eyes' in the second season has to be up there with the greatest moments in anime

Death note is unreal. You'll love bebop.

From myanimelist my top 4 are:
Cowboy Bebop
Baccano
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
Steins;gate

These are the only anime tv series I have rated 10/10, 5th would probably have to be:
Death Note which I would probably rate a 9.5/10

Some very notable series which I highly recommend:
Wolf's Rain
Shiki
Clannad
Black Lagoon
Madoka Magica
FMA original
GTO
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Code Geass

1 - Dragon Ball Z, basically made my childhood what it was. Still love it.
2 - Hellsing Ultimate, not the weird American spinoff they did with that Incognito vampire.
3 - Full Metal Alchemist, the original anime not the new Brotherhood, havnt actually had a chance to watch that new one just yet.
4 - Attack on Titan, still new but still awesome.
5 - Zoids: Chaotic Century, Not sure if anyone really remembers this one but I loved it. Ended up buying half the models to it as a kid.
