Ive got a top 50 list on my ipod, but i cant be bothered typing it out now. Ill do it later. stay right on the edge of your seats though, it is a good list

I don't have a top 50, it's really hard to work one out - songs on my iPod haven't been run into the ground so play counts wouldn't tell much. Plus, it would change too often.

but i'll do ten. im not sure about the best but musically and personally, these have been songs that have effected me the most.

10. Crowded House - When you come Neil finn was exploring more darker lyrical themes through the second album. Just the way the song builds in to a massive climax is inspiring. It could be about the word ending,it could be about sex.. either way,its brilliant

9.Sufjan Stevens One of the most moving songs ever. Its almost hard to listen to at times, real body shiver moments throughout. But thats what makes a classic song right? Illonoise will be remembered as a classic peice from this decade. An epic mix of folk/classical music/pop/etc.. But this being the less 'dressed up' song on the album makes it ready for anyone to listen to. this song will be covered and odored 50 yrs from now.

8. The Shins - Saint simon It amazed me how James mercer fits so many large words into the melody here. Such a well structured song, realy has a gorgeous 60's flavour to it.Like alot of the shins material the content is dark but the songs so bright,love that.

7.Led Zeppelin - Black Dog If someone from outa space asked me what 'rock n roll' was. I would play them black Dog. Sure.. its not the most original peice,but for me it just sums up whats good about rock. The energy in the vocals,the groove and feel.

6.Beck - Hotwax Beck just takes every single fav musical style of his and throws it together in one song. This sums up what i love about the dude. playfull lyrics,funky groovs,insane beats. Not sure if its his best but it just hits the nail on the head

5.Air - All i need Im not a huge Air fan(i only own moon safari) But this song grabbed me in 99 when i was 12.So different to anything else i heard on the radio..didnt get the album a good 6 years later though.I just thought it was the most chilled,gorgeous peice of music ever. When in the mood a wack this sucker on.its sooths the mind i tell ya.

4.The Beatles - for no one I think i rate this as my fav beatles song.period. I cant think of any other breakup song that sums it up this well,in 2 odd minutes.Not a wasted word. Pure genius.

3.Radiohead - No suprises the music to this has a very pet sounds- ish feel. Its a very sad/emotional peice that is my peak on OK COMP. Its about a man loosing it in the modern world. hes bitter about his job/government and the world in general.. so he ends his life. I belive the 'such a pretty house,such a pretty garden' bits are the flash backs as he is dying.

2.Beach Boys - God only knows Alot like 'for no one' Brian wilson didnt need much song time to create such a masterpiece. The lyrics are simple..but amazing. the arrangement and chords are out of this world.Not it a pop world at all. Whats so good about this song is that there are no flatt areas,its like a series of musical peaks throughout.

1.The Kinks - Waterloo sunset. Personally,this is prob my fav tunes of all time.Like no other song its just seemed to have been with me..like,forever.Its so dreamy,reflective and soothing. I think the kinks harmonies were underratted to.listen to them vocal parts, they are off the hook.
