It's appalling that all those rubbish "talent" shows value R&B stylings over everything else.It makes me sick. I chose singers that may not be "technically" perfect but have heart and are unique.

In no particular order: Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion

They aren't my fave artists but I love their voices.

I also want to mention Annie Lennox, Elton John, Prince, Beyoncé, Daniel Johns, Michael Hutchence, Stevie Wonder, Jackson Brown, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Debbie Harry, Billy Joel, John Fogerty, Glenn Frey, Maurice White and Brandon Boyd.

Also groups that can harmonise well >>> everything

Dax Riggs
Dan Auerbach
David Coverdale circa 1974

This is sacrilege because theoretically nothing about his singing was good.

But my favourite of all time is Joey Ramone. I don't think any singer has ever so perfectly fitted the music being pumped out behind them. Everything about him, despite him having nothing going for him, was cool.

If picking on absolute quality I'd go Plant, Mercury probably Thom Yorke

Elton John
Michael Jackson
Van Morrison

My three favourites are:
Debbie Harry (Wind & The Willows/Blondie/The Jazz Passengers)
Siouxsie Sioux (Sioiuxsie & The Banshees/The Creatures)
Toni Halliday (Curve)

Apologies to Ann Wilson, Nancy Wilson, Susie Higgie, Francoise Hardy, Jodi Phillis, Patricia Young, Johnette Napolitano, Carina Round, Juanita Stein, Sharon den Adel, Anneke van Giersbergen, Diana Ross, Nancy Sinatra, Chrissie Amphlett, Grace Knight, Grace Slick, Miki Berenyi and Juliana Hatfield to name a few.

My three male favourites are:
Bryan Ferry (Roxy Music)
Sean Kelly (Models)
Jim Keays (Masters Apprentices)
