Brett Ebert, Peter Burgoyne and the likes would come under that banner also.
There's an argument to be made that Peter Burgoyne could be past his use by date, although I would not be too miffed if Port gave him a one year contract.
But to include a 24 year old Brett Ebert in this thread makes no sense to me, IMO Brett has many years of excellent footy ahead of him.
If you wanted to have a go at Port players, why choose Brett Ebert, when easy targets like Damon White or Toby Thurstans were available?
Anyway, this thread is about possible mature age Crow trade or draft targets.
IMO, I do not reckon the Crows will be big players in the trading game this year.
They will target "best possible" with their 1st & 2nd draft picks, will go for a young ruckman as a project player with their 3rd draft pick, look for a key position player with their 4th draft pick and look for a hard running inside midfielder with a bit of maturity, say about 24 or 25 years old with their 5th draft pick. If they have a spare list position available, they'll wait till the Pre-Season Draft to fill it with a "best available" player.
Do you like that, or agree with my, bit of crystal ball gazing?
