We should go for him. He would be much better value than Tingay, Allison, Daffy and possibly even Brereton.

32 year old hack who can't get a game in the wooden spoon team - what exactly could he offer us?

As a preference, I'd be inclined to bring back Bobby Skilton. Sure, he might be a little old for a team that's rebuilding - but he's had 35 years out of the game and so should be feeling quite fresh and over all those niggling injuries he carried in '71. He could bring back the stabbie too, something Yze wouldn't offer us.

no chance id want him, whats the point of gettin experience in if it means the delay of a younger player.
since we havent had injuries the last few season its slowed the progress of younger players. nows their chance to prove they can play so lets not clog the list up with declining veterans

Exactly. Yze was a class player no doubt. But we already have a list with ageing
players on it,we dont need to top up this list with more veterans.

30 year old.

All Australian.

Played six games this year.

Compared to O'Loughlin, youth.
Compared to Ablett, class.
Compared to Bird, experience.
:thumbsu:

Wouldn't lace Micky O's boots
At least Ablett is playing
Bird, has a future

Yze - Has been who hasn't had a kick for two seasons, forget it !!!

Why wouldn't you! Thats why the worst team in the comp dont want him.

I tell you he was within a whisker of being a swan 3 years ago and considering we are perservering with the likes of Davis, Crouch, Mathews, Grundy, Kennelly he would be very handy for the next couple of years. In reality there is no way he'll get picked up but with only a handful (and a small one at that) of young players rising through the pathetic ranks of our reserve grade we could do far worse.
