This could be a blessing for Port Adelaide with the immanent loss of Butters and the money they have allocated to him they could offer Bailey crazy money to walk to Port as a free agent which Brisbane wouldnt be able to match.
7 year $10 mil would stretch the lions and Port could get the Butters trade done and Cochran as well as Bailey to cover Butters to a degree

If Butters leaves throw the 1.8 mil for 7 at Bailey, match Butters to force a trade to get most of the capital for Cochrane + Pilot (if he keeps on the same trajectory) and use our own picks on Salopek and less likely Rodan.

Other clubs arent coming off two premierships with a list that includes probably the best group of players aged under 25 in the comp.

I dont see that as an asset. Hes won 2 flags all the more reason to bank the cash with a club that offers him more money and a starting full time mid spot (which brisbane cant/wont offer)

I agree Brisbane have built a powerhouse now and it won’t slow down. However they have been splashing the cash.

He could have 3 flags to his name already by the end of this year. Would he pass up an additional $500-700k a year (assuming the Brissie offer is in the $1 million range) to maybe but with no guarantee at another for the last 6-7 years of his career?

Already has the medals and achieved every kids dream with 7 years left to make $11-$12 mil before he retires
