I'm really liking what I see with Zac. His confidence is growing and took a very important contested mark in the final quarter which resulted in a goal.

Keep the afro in I say :thumbsu:

Harvey must be blind. last week giffin was getting butchered in the ruck in last Q but persisted with kepler(no better) as his back up and clarke used as a midfielder.

Today against the bummers Hill dominated griffin at start of last Q resulting in their 4 goals. He started to use clark in the ruck after about 12 mins and it was no surprise that we steadied and kicked to goals to stop their run.

the kid had a great leap - lets F++++n use it. he appears lost as midfielder.

I wasn't referring to having 2 ruckmen in the same side or insinuating that their ruck combination wasn't working, way to miss the point. Of course it's going well captain obvious.

I was referring to the times when he plonks 2 ruckmen in the centre square and specifically when he used to do it with Cox and Seaby.

Cox and Natanui is slightly different due to Natanui being such a steam train running in a straight line but it's still an all-or-nothing ploy.

2 ruckman around a boundary stoppage is a completely different thing.

Listen "captain obvious", I know exactly what you referred to, hence my response to just that in my last sentence, so don't be a smart arse.
It didn't work with Cox and Seaby because the game was slightly different few years ago and obviously because Seaby is not as mobile as Cox and Naitanui and just simply inferior ruckman.

Always thought he could be a very good tap ruckman an add something around the ground.
Never doubted that.

What i doubt is his ability to hold a spot anywhere other than as ruck/backup ruck.

I'm a big fan and disappointed I buggered up the buddy draft this year and missed him.

Zac needs time on the ground at AFL level to develop. It will get him used to the game at the AFL level, and push him and inspire him.

I'd say Harve's plan is simply to expose him as much as he can to develop his smarts and knowledge.

Liking the side with a few talls in. Clarke has put on a few kilos since last year and he is looking the goods. We are going to need some more talls in the coming years if you look at the age of our keys.

Healy just said on On The Couch that Clarke was playing for his career and was gone if he did not suceed in this role.

One of the most stupid things said this year.

I rate Healy very highly, but that comment is way off the mark.

Tony Micale & Spider Burton are very happy with his progress.

Good to see Harvey's trying to copy Worsfold's ideas ;)

surely self-deprecating humour.

The whole footy world knows worstfold has never had an original idea - EVER.

He's only just caught up with the modern style of play, and luckily for you all your over-the hill players have managed to get up for one last hurrah and are having a blinder this year. Sure you have a couple of good youngsters but wee-girls will be no-where again next year and beyond.

Playing Cox/Naitanui in the middle at the same time? Haven't really seen that before.

As for our "over-the-hill" players, they are finally all fit and always had the potential to once again play great footy. And their average ages would be around 28 or so. Still a few years of good footy left in Cox, Embley, Kerr, Lynch etc.

As for you guys, once Sandi and Pav retire - what are you 'gonna do?

Cox and Glass are likely to retire before Pav and Sandilands. They are older and more injury prone.

Not sure how old you are Jacko but Daniel Bandy played ruck rover on occasion and that was approx 1997/98....so perhaps it is Woosha doing the copying?!
