The disparity between what Hawthorn fans are seeing and what Essendon fans are seeing is VAST.

Will make for another 400 pages of fighting in this thread post 7:30PM whichever way it goes.

What on earth would I have to be bitter about in regards to Essendon. The fact you have Nic Martin and we don’t and that’s genuinely about it. I can think of 2 things since 2006 you might be though
that’s for you to decide m8

The only reporting on Essendon & Hustwaite before this trade period was that Essendon were 'keeping tabs on him'. Hardly amounts to chasing a bloke lol
don’t hurt the narrative!

No, literally it's not. Whoever has "pick 9" on draft night will not be picking at draft selection number nine. They will be picking the draft pick CALLED pick THIRTEEN. I'm not sure why that's so friggin hard to understand. DUH!
It’s the ninth pick to draft available talent in the open draft. Academy players aren’t relevant.

Lewis isn't an elite player & is injury prone... so why would we trade for him? I'd argue May has elite potential too.
Lewis is capable of it if he can stay fit. Has shown this.

That IF is the reason he’s not more highly valued league wide. Which is also why he’s valued inside the club and isn’t gonna be apart of the trade.

Lore - you've gone a bit tribal here.

Petroro is a mouthpiece for his client, literally.

The fact his client's goals align with hawthorn's goals doesn't mean he's a hawhtorn mouthpiece, it means he's a Merrett mouthpiece as he's employed to be.
I've always been a bit tribal in this thread. The fact is he's the one that has to act as a go between and mediate a deal. That's the role that player managers have in brokering deals these days. He can't do that if he intends to prosecute the case for one side over the other. His client may well be left in the breach if he doesn't get to work on finding the middle ground.

Managers don’t broker trades! Where did you get that idea from? Josh Jenkins?

Good on Essnedon for really sticking it to Hawthorn and Merrett here. Doing what my club didn't have the balls to do with them and Barrass last year.
It's weird though coz we have two of your former list managers, one also your former GM-Football, and your former player working for us now as our CEO, draft guru and list manager...
