If the first quote in this post is correct, then I doubt Geelong would be offering Tuohy much, if any, more than SOS is, just a longer deal.

SOS may very well be happy to trade Tuohy for the right pick/player, but if no trade can be achieved he has all the time between the end of Trade Week and the Preseason Draft to get a contract sorted. That being the case, I'm not quite sure how SOS can be accused of mismanaging Tuohy's contract negotiations. Far too many people are prepared to pass judgement before the game's been allowed to be played out IMO.

The figure posted by those we trust here was that of a below AFL average wage as a starting figure with incentive payments from memory. I would call that paltry for a player we are trying to get a first round pick or thereabouts for.

Have they tried for 38 & 42 to on-trade to GWS for points? Might be less messy and more advantageous to GWS if they interact with GC & the Roos.
 
If 42 gets us Hrovat/Richards and 38 can be used with 23 instead of 13 (and maybe a later pick thrown back to us) it's a reasonable trade.

We have been in to Hrovat for a while, so if he nominates us, I suspect we will take him over Richards.

Given the recent blumours of Geelong's future first plus a pick swap. I feel cockatoo is a chance to get traded to the GC for a first rounder leaving Geelong with the ability to trade next years first..

Sounds like it'll rely on them getting another first rounder in this year. Cockatoo to GC would make sense as they'd be getting a top 10 pick this year, and only be trading their 14-18 for next year.
 
What a state of affairs and what an indictment on the inequality of clubs and the impossibility for bottom teams to move up the ladder that we are scrabbling with another irrelevant club over a reserves player.

That's a bad deal for us assuming the picks aspect is underwhelming.

The picks aspect would want to involve us getting at minimum a pick that we can use to bundle and ontrade else be a pick under 40
