I'm a huge fan of Guthrie, so probably biased, but most definitely a first round draft pick. But I do not wish to see him be part of a trade for any player under any circumstances.

Dreaming if you think Guthrie is a first rounder imo. I can't think of one elite quality he has.

Good player but he's no star.

Generally the going rate for a player that is one of the best at their position in the league, walking straight into the best 22, coming into their prime, is respectfully more than a late second round pick.
Yes. And respectfully, the going rate is also variable depending on the factors.

When you add the fact that Zach's both OOC and has nominated Geelong into the equation, you're going to end up with a result on the lower end of the going rate.

Bryce Gibbs on the other hand... I expect you guys to screw Adelaide tighter than an overzealous apprentice going hammer and tong with a 1" pneumatic rattle gun.

I cant see how Geelong could possibly get this deal done.

They got nothing we want, they got nothing we neeeeed.
I don't want to see Touhy again
I don't want Touhy for a friend
I don't want Touhy hanging around
I don't mind just putting Touhy down.
You got the money, I got the time
Nothing better…

I think Geelong have proved pretty reasonable at the trade table in the last few years so I'd be shocked if they made a low ball offer.

I think you still offered full value for Henderson last year despite him being out of contract, nominating you and having been dropped from the team in the later part of the season.

My gut feeling is that the cats are further down the road in regard to Zach than they are for Deleideo.

Agreed on all accounts there. We're known as a great club to deal with. Also, regarding Tuohy and Lids; if we get Tuohy then Lids is less of a priority.

I'd love both but if they cannot both be reasonably obtained, I'd suggest we'll pull the trigger on Zach first. If Richmond play too hard, we can get Lids in a year for nothing.

Mate you might like supporting a team whose talent has deserted them but I don't. Gibbs and Tuohy have not shown much confidence in the club or Bolts.
Neither have you, arseclown.

I said reasonable. Don't get all Donald Trump on us now.:D:D:D

Gibbs is under contract with three years to run. End of story. He should be held to his contract unless Adelaide pays overs. If he is let go for a return that supporters consider inadequate the Club will suffer. Supporters will drop off. Also the talk about him wanting to go home should be dismissed for the nonsense it is. Home is a 50 minute play ride away ffs. That excuse is pure tosh.

As for Tuohy he should reward the club for giving him a career. He is also a very valuable, injury free player. If Geelong want him they should pay overs as well.

Finally you seem to have missed another point. The desire of both players to leave reflects poorly on the coach.

I have followed Carlton for a long time. I am not accustomed to them being losers!
What rock you been hiding under for 20 years?

not sure why u would want to go to Geelong. Not much upside with there list.

2 superstars and lots of C graders.

Get a pick between 20-26, otherwise cough up more coin so he stays.

Ok. I am prepared to entertain the possibility of the club wanting to let Tuohy go. I think it is unwise. He has played very well without injury since early 2013!!!

As I type I am listening to Sam Maclure on 3AW. He says that Carlton want to retain Gibbs and that they hope to persuade him to stay. Apparently he is happy at Carlton but that bloody wife wants to be near her Mum because the baby is one year old. What a bogan! Why marry a Melbourne based footballer if your main ambition in life is to have kids and live in dreary Adelaide? Pity Bryce didn't trade up by getting a smart Melbourne girl.

Derwayne and Scoop think Carlton should play hard ball. Scoop says that pick 13 is not enough and that McGovern should be included.

The Board should step in and forbid a trade that is less than overs. It will not be good for the Club and its supporters for it to be done over by Adelaide again!
Does anyone else read this idiots mulch beside me?

That's just rubbish. They're a family. Family always comes first.
While I agree that family does come 1st, Bryce is an AFL footballer who has sacrificed plenty to get where he is and she is putting herself 1st.
It's not like he is 22 and has another 10 years left.

Not that I dont agree but elsewhere on the boards there are people clamouring that we should give up pick 5 for marchbank because he was a pick 6 a couple of years ago, no mention that he is mostly injured, no mention that he is also OOC, no mention that he has also nominated Carlton. But we are also getting steak knives in Pickett and co...once again, nominated us and badly injured, has a year to run on current contract but GWS has to cut list size.
