Highly variable recovery for peroneal nerve decompression/release surgery - ranging from immediate to months.
What is the recovery time for a nerve release?
Most nerve releases are performed as an outpatient procedure and do not require an overnight stay in the hospital. Many nerve releases are performed in conjunction with more complicated procedures that may require additional time in the hospital. If performed alone without any other additional procedures, there are no weight bearing restrictions after a nerve release, and most patients are encouraged to start walking immediately after surgery. Early mobilization is important to reduce swelling and prevent joint contractures. The skin incision will heal in 1-2 weeks. Depending on how severe the underlying nerve damage was prior to surgery, the nerve symptoms may be alleviated immediately after surgery, or it may take months for the nerve to fully recover

Successful surgery is the key term!

Great news!

Let's hope so, but it makes me laugh whenever a player goes under the knife and their club immediately comes out and says the surgery was successful - even when they've done an ACL and are going to miss a year.

He's miles off returning and like Durrs he wont be plug 'n play the moment he's passed fit, they've just missed too much footy by that point.

I guess it just means there were no complications, or the procedure went as planned/expected.

Best case scenario is the nerve problem is now completely resolved, and, once the surgery wound heals, it's just a matter of finishing his ankle rehab and getting match fitness back?

Zak won't play again this year. It's all about his long term health now. What an absolute mess.

Are any of the people saying he won't be back this yr have inside info from the club saying we will put him away for the yr or hopefully opinions?
