Movie Zombieland

For those interested, SBS is showing zombie flicks on monday nights... 10pm -> from memory. Saw a cool one 2 weeks ago about a reality TV film crew doing a doco on the fire department being locked in a building were everyone turns zombie.

That would be [REC], remade in the US as Quarantine, alright movie.

I've taken a bit of notice of the zombie horrors on Monday nights (Following the simply AWESOME Dead Set), some have been alright, but there isn't a lot of great ones being shown.

There is already a thread about it around here somwhere, and most of us have said it is good.

I really loved it, some very funny scenes and a fantastic cameo by Bill Murray.

the first 20 minutes were good.

after that is was just completely ****ing shit.

the writing was terrible.

transformed from a comically stupid film into a comically stripped stupid one.

not suprised so many on here liked it. fairly good reflection of the perceptive, and comedic understanding most of you people have.

Saw it tonight - harmlessly good but definitely not great (Rotten Tomatoes lies to me...again!). Really not strong enough as either a comedy or a zombie movie and just seemed to fall awkwardly in between. It almost needs another mandatory half hour of running time so it can be forced to develop some depth somewhere!

This man nailed it. Good idea with the rules and started off well but got fairly boring in the middle. I must've missed all these funny things Bill Murray did too. Shaun of the dead was much better.

i enjoyed it, not the greatest movie i'll ever see, but certainly enjoyable... Bill Murray was great, Woody was great, Emma Stone went up a whole new level in my book...

was reading on IMDB it was initally written as a pilot for a television series, before it was adapted into a movie... each episode would feature 'zombie kill of the week'... sequel also meant to be on the way too...

Loved it. Hilarious with just the right amount of zombie killing and eating.

Yeah it was great. Gruesome blood n guts, funny zombie-killing action. The car slide with Uzi blazing was a cracker. The rules for survival and looking out for them during the movie were great. There was empathy with the human characters too.

Better than Shaun of the Dead. Guy I went to see it with went back with his teenage boys.

Zombies are great absurd comedy with plenty of scope for spectacular stunts.

Ending - yeah why not have an ending like that. Good cinema film.

I love a good Zombie movie. This is up there with the best of them. The Bill Murray cameo was brilliant. 7/10

I enjoyed this film, especially the rules as they were a new angle to the whole survival theme.

Now i need to watch shaun of the dead again so i can make a comparison.
