An explosive and expletive-filled 18-minute recording of an Essendon meeting during 2013 is set to reignite the long-running drug saga.

Obtained by the Herald Sun, the recording features coach James Hird, chairman Paul Little, assistant coach Mark Thompson and football manager Danny Corcoran discussing the bitter negotiations between the club and the league.

Little accuses now AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan of retracting on a deal to exonerate the players from penalty while Hird labels the league hierarchy a ‘pack of f***ing lying pricks’.

The tape is now available to listen to on the paper’s website (paywalled, of course), but you can discuss the tape and the fallout in this thread.
