My biggest concern injury wise next year is so many returning from long term injuries, however currently only seeing McCarthy and payne on Brisbane's means that's a fallacy as well if we get it right.

    AFL Player # 47: Oskar Smartt - Set to debut v Richmond! - 9/7

Is another debut the new smokescreen when the club wears some media/fan heat? Definitely a few different outlets trying desperately for a new story this week. Don't mind his selection, don't think his shown that much at vfl which i think is long term but desperately need small so no harm...

Totally didn't mean to come across as a expert as really its just some interesting theory and a different perspective. I have no idea or study in this area just sharing some different thoughts that are out there. Personally, I think running on trails, uneven ground has injury benefits rather...

BS. I'm sure most players frustrated by constant injuries think maybe they need a fresh start or change of luck. Not a essendon thing.

Aflpa boss also confirmed not 1 essendon players has raised concerns 0ver injury crisis to the aflpa. They talk regularly to players at each club, I'd say particularly us post drugs saga.

The book born to run has some good sources throughout, however there is also other factors like spending more money on running shoes generally correlates to taking running more seriously and running more often. Barefoot runners have lower injury rates etc.

AFL Player #13: Nik Cox - Season done after concussion panel, will return to play next year - 4/7

Is he uncontracted? Rookie list or train on spot? Seems a wasted spot if it's only slim chance at best that he'd be cleared to play. Would another club give him a list spot?

AFL Player #31: Zach Reid - minor hamstring strain may require preventative surgery - 4/7

Dr. Google of hamstrings surgery for chronic injury isn't any comfort. Laverde might get another year with hayes/reid both missing close to 12 months of footy.

AFL Player #31: Zach Reid - minor hamstring strain may require preventative surgery - 4/7

Surgery ain't always the best option. I thought surgery is more last resort/no other option or a quick fix to return quicker. Not sure of hamstrings though.

I haven't played local footy for 15 years and had the better coaches ban the torp/max distance kicking comps at the start and end of training due to risk of injury. Particularly on cold nights. It wasn't a high level either. Afl is a fully professional environment. Dribble kicks, land it in...

Roast Our general fitness, strength and conditioning.

Kicking or any activity is fine if it's within realms of his role/actions on game day. Trying to bang torps from 50m is frowned upon at the best of times doing it with injury concern/test is crazy. Would be frowned upon at a div 12 ressies if a teamate with a quad or hammy injury was trying a...

Is this real? Coming back from injury hey perform a test your body has no muscle memory of since u18s? So the skills coach has players develop muscle memory of really controlled repeatable and structured kicking actions (performance under stress) yet our s and c program says hey coming back...

Are we spending more than other clubs on aflw and less in s & c afl? Not saying you are wrong but anything to back it up otherwise this just a biased chauvinistic i hate aflw call?

A couple of things I'd like to see investigated 1. Surface/hardness at Tullamarine 2. Drafting and list management - resigning injured players. We resign players with poor injury history. Edwards may not do a acl again but missing a whole year of footy i think would have a increased likelihood...

    AFL Player # 4: Kyle Langford - Re-injured his quad at training - 2/7

Should be coming back through the 2s anyway. Takes a few weeks to find form. Allows may, caddy, Wright a few more weeks or mcmahon to get a debut. Needs to sort his body out long term.

Recruiting AFL Trade & Free Agency XIII

Blakiston? Wright? Also as break glass. Ruck i don't think will be a issue. Need elite attacking/striker mid, small fwd, small defender, intercept maker 3rd tall, 2nd key fwd, ruck. Ridleys too injured so maybe intercept defender is a bit higher. Also outside pace line breaking is big need...

Recruiting AFL Trade & Free Agency XIII

Still makes no sense, byran and vigo are better prospects/contracts for 2027 onwards. Why not just give Darcy contract to draper. Draper is a better fwd and we have two other young rucks in the wings in byran and vigo. Injury prone, not versatile, cant split ruck duties. I rate him between...

Recruiting AFL Trade & Free Agency XIII

Darcy at essendon males no sense to me. We have draper, byran and vigo who all are better prospects/ contracts for 2027 onwards.
  20. nipst@r

    AFL Player # 2: Sam Draper - Achilles - 18/4

I would suspect the club in draper's case would 0ffer a deal just under band 1 compo so basically we get a first rounder if a club wants to offer him more. Think its always been the plan, injury maybe just made the sa teams offer less. Think his gone, with byran and vigo would you rather cap...

AFL Player #16: Archie Perkins - sub two weeks in a row, and then subbed off - 4/7

Id love to see him go back to vfl and dominate to get some confidence back. Kick a bag 9f 5 or get q bog. It's that or give him some time as deepest fwd out of the square. I think archie has the tools but just cant put it together again. What is his trade value? As seems to be get to 100...

AFL Autopsy RND 15: Lost to the Dockers

Lav, prior and Blakiston all battled hard. All had 2- 3 kicked on them but played alright.

AFL Autopsy RND 15: Lost to the Dockers

Showed some signs but serong/Jackson and umpires had to much class in the end. Is tsatas that much worse than parish defensively and decision making wise? About expected. Vigo, lual and may showed some potential. I liked roberts and caddy games overall.

Game Day Round 15: Freo v Essendon, Optus Stadium, 19/6/25 8.10pm AEST

Parish getting 30 really just robs the team of 20+ possession in the hands of a better user and decision maker.
