Coach Men's Coaches 2026 - Gia to the Hawkes, linked to Hinkley, Solomon quits the board to become backline coach

Lastly Solomon will have won me over if i dont see mcgrath takes a kick out for the full year. Some of this stuff isn't hard.

Coaching panel also probably deserves credit for at least trying the tall wings, Blakiston as a key defender and martins flexibility. Not all work full time but they added weapons in the coaching box battle.

Coach Men's Coaches 2026 - Gia to the Hawkes, linked to Hinkley, Solomon quits the board to become backline coach

It comes down to coaching but we lack a bit of strategy. So please move or point to another thread but few things id like too see from our coaches. Jones, Blakiston, Cox all be rotated through back up ruck, kpd, kpf and even wing. Can be in vfl but between the 3 I think we will find one afl...

    AFL Player 16: Archie Perkins

Was certain he was going to be a star early but just plays indecisive and ball watches. I wonder if worth trialling in other spots hbf, wing or even as smaller full forward. Trialling is probsbly in the vfl though. He should have been the stringer, de goey, rayner role but just doesn't have...

Coach Men's Coaches 2026 - Gia to the Hawkes, linked to Hinkley, Solomon quits the board to become backline coach

Its the lack of process, ess boys club. Same poor governance lead to biggest drug scandal in the competitions history so reaction is valid for mine. Dodoro had twenty plus year, I think afl expierience is bit overrated generally.

Is Solomon actually one of brads boys club?

Coach Men's Coaches 2026 - Gia to the Hawkes, linked to Hinkley, Solomon quits the board to become backline coach

When do tassie join? At this rate we are all jumping ship yeah? My two favourite players of all time solomon and hird are the two ppl i want least involved in coaching essendon. Never meet your idols, efc run like a local footy club. Honestly there is more governance and due process at most...

Not like poor governance and lack of process has ever bitten us in the arse.

Hard to sack a board member if he is no good as an assisstant. We are a bizarre club. Crap but bizarre. I like welsh less with every announcement.

AFLW Autopsy R9: Flogged by the dogs

Be good to have at least 1 half decent team. Aflw, AFL, VFL all been pretty average for a while now. As a club need to keep focusing on development, culture and ensuring a mid to long term list strategy. Will the new afl hp team have any influence/insights for aflw. Collectively need to...

    Recruiting AFL Draft Watch 2025 - Picks 5, 6, 21, 27 and 30

100% agree we draft a tall mid and setterfield is delisted. Too injury prone, why i was super high on perkins but oh well. Tsatas almost has the height but still smallest comparatively against other tall mids.

    Recruiting AFL Draft Watch 2025 - Picks 5, 6, 21, 27 and 30

Libba has bont, lions have dunkley, Collingwood had pendles/de goey, Geelong have danger, Adelaide have Dawson, fremantle have young, gold coast have anderson. We need a tall pure centre square mid. Gws have tom Green. We maybe have martin but need a starts in the centre square 190 or close...

    Recruiting AFL Draft Watch 2025 - Picks 5, 6, 21, 27 and 30

Our issue is still height in our pure midfielders. Caldwell/Hobbs slightly small for contested mids. If sharp is a 5cm taller hobbs with slightly more leadership I'm okay with that selection. Parish/shiel/merret too small to be offensive mids and fwd threats. Martin our only tall genuine mid...

    Recruiting AFL Draft Watch 2025 - Picks 5, 6, 21, 27 and 30

1 of Robey/sharp and Cumming for me Still wouldn't mind 6/7 for 1 or 2 early seconds for a mid 1st if someone we like dovaston? Taylor still available. Doubt other teams do it though.

Recruiting AFL Trade & Free Agency XIII

What's our plan for bringing in a+ talent over the next few years. We probably now dont finish low enough bottom 3 or have the destination to bring in elite free agents? So would be good for welsh and rosa to have an aligned strategy on that. Do we still trade up? Or somehow get another top...

Recruiting AFL Trade & Free Agency XIII

Generally clubs bounce back quicker after losing best player than they do holding onto disgruntled players. Did we win trade period again? What's the best case realistic scenario for us and merret over the next few years? I think we made a stance stuck to it and can probably minimise the...

AFL Player 7: Indefatigable Zach Merrett (c) - Staying Put

Im more interested in helping us win a flag than stopping the hawks.

I have zero concerns on rosa. Welsh making the decisions I have serious concerns with.

AFL Player 7: Indefatigable Zach Merrett (c) - Staying Put

Time to get behind him. Feels a bit too emotive and purely a welsh move for me but also felt petracca and curnow deals were better than what we got offered anyway so we move on. Hope some players put out the olive branch now. Long time before round 1. Hope he is well supported round 1.

Rosa replacing dodoro is the difference. Trust in rosa.

Recruiting AFL Trade & Free Agency XIII

Seeing the curnow and petracca offers. The hawks offer is well unders for this trade period. Merret better player, his skillset should age better and also a better injury history than both so will see if hawks throw a comparable market rate trade our way.

Recruiting AFL Trade & Free Agency XIII

Any non-merret trades for us tomorrow? Feels a bit meh off season so far and expect a 12-16 finish next year. No better, no worse just a better run with injuries.

AFL Player 7: Indefatigable Zach Merrett (c) - Staying Put

Does anyone know if merret stays we are still upping his contract again? Also is it common for presidents to be so involved in list management decisions? I would still trade him if a better deal presents but am okay if we are keeping him for tge right reasons as opposed tp emotional or ego...

    Recruiting AFL Draft Watch 2025 - Picks 5, 6, 21, 27 and 30

Dodos mate getting involved in recruitment amd overstepping. What could go wrong? I dont mind being an observer or understanding the process rosa and the club goes through but this fills like a overstep.

Recruiting AFL Trade & Free Agency XIII

As a more balanced poster, do you think fiorini and then also keeping merret at all costs demonstres a change in list and club strategy? Seems welsh driven but if I'm reading to much into it still on the longer term build then Ill take your word for it.

Recruiting AFL Trade & Free Agency XIII

I mean I swear the club said we would only be looking for free agents players from other clubs under 28 before the change of president. Its not like short term sugar fixes and using some season hope to appease disgruntled players hasn't held us back for the last decade. For me the critcism is...
