Precisely

The hip wouldn't be a fast recovery. Hard to properly rest it since you basically can't move without using your hips, and they're massively weight bearing.

Could be tendinitis or something like that which simply needs time
Yeah, some sort of inflammation is probably the most sensible answer

You can keep playing with one but it can get pretty painful/ restrictive. Fantasia tried to play through one a few years back
Dr Google says surgery is often the only real path to fixing. Kind of makes sense it's what the injury is if they're trying to nurse him through the season before booking him in post season. It all depends on whether it can be brought back to a manageable pain threshold but allowing him to play to a high enough standard.

The kind of thing they might try to nurse him through to be fit 'enough' to play on it for a final perhaps?

If I remember right, Fantasia had surgery to remove the loose flap and it's been ****ed ever since.

And if it's anything like the meniscus with crappy blood flow to parts of it, then it takes ages to get it to heal. I think Shiel's meniscus was 12-16 weeks with surgery, and Tsatas' was reported in months, no surgery.

I think Wright's shoulder reco might've been labrum as well, that one was right in 11 weeks down from 16 🤔

But as you say, hips are weight bearing, it's bloody hard to "deload" them properly. And as far as we can tell he isn't even on crutches...

why is Drapers hip injury such a big SECRET !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well it’s not such a secret now you’ve yelled it all over a public forum

It looks like they’ll make a call on him to come back if we beat west coast and then north and suddenly are back in the finals frame
Put him on ice imo let Bryan play out the season
No need to bring him back hoping to scrape into finals. If he needs some sort of surgery have it now so he’s ready to go for preseason day 1

Running following hip/groin injury, hoping to play again in 2023
