Summary: Rd 1 1915 Carlton v Fitzroy clearly started after 3pm due to the length of time it took to do the flag unfurling
http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article242344990

Exact time however unsure, more research required - but crowd was yelling that it was after 3pm and to hurry up.
So we may have to see what other papers say or just take an educated guess of 3.05pm

Summary: Rd 2 1918 Ess v St K appears to have began at 3.05pm as per this reader's letter of complaint.
"
"Last week's match
at East Melbourne did not begin
until five minutes past three, and
a fine finish was marred through
being unable to recognise the players
in the dark.

NB: Many references during the 1910s of play never starting at 3pm etc...why dont they move back to 2.45 or 2.30 etc etc. We will never collate every late starting time in this era, but if the time delay is mentioned in the paper we should mention it as per Rd 2 1918

the croucher and others,
What I'll do is collate all these summarys into a chronological spreadsheet so we can see what GF or Finals or regular season games etc we have , and are missing - and it will be easier for the AFL folks to update from their end when I send it through
