Who would have though a speculative pick on a fat country kid from Albany, and the son of a former Docker, would pay dividends the way it has with our last pick in the 2011 rookie draft.

4 X All Australian
2018 Premiership player, and the one who set off "The Play", whilst having cracked ribs and needing 6 painkilling injections to play

All hail to the big Guv'nor on his 150th this week.

44th player to reach the 150-game milestone for West Coast, but just the fifth to have come from the rookie list (Cox, Priddis, Lynch, Fletcher) and third to reach the milestone having not made his debut until after his 22nd birthday (Lamb, Hart).

Fairly sure he’s also the only player of the 44 to have spent more than three years on the playing list before debuting, but will double check.

Absolute wrecking ball when he is on. Brilliant judge of the play and strong overhead mark. One of those imposing players who forces the opposition to create strategies to negate him. Has been off the boil recently (still a good player) but has an outstanding body of work behind him and one of the reasons we are most definitely not in rebuild mode (despite our dubious year to date).

Actually the first to have spent more than two years on the list before his debut.

Goes alright for a fat boy with no aerobic capacity.

Sides have started to gameplan around him, which hinders how good he looks, but is a sign of how good he is.

Returns to the AA side like it’s a buffet at an all you can eat, absolute gem and what value from a speculative draft pick.

Only now hitting 150 is surprising given he was pretty much an impact player for as long as he’s been playing.

Highest paid player for a WA-based club of all time I believe.

Teams build their entire gameplans around nullifying him. Thought he'd played more than 150 games, he's been so good pretty much since debut.

Surprised he's never been Club Champion.

If we play Harry Edwards as an old school lockdown defender, we'll have many more years of Gov doing Gov things.

Indeed remember the naysayers .......... speaking of which I wonder how Masto is doing after he defected to Gold Coast after Gov made him look like a campaigner once he established himself as a best 22.

That said well done to the North Albany pie eater, he has done himself proud.

I remember clearly watching Gov play in a Colts final down at Moss Street, where he was pitted against the next best thing East Fremantle's Tyler Caldwell, ROYAL EAGLE had the biggest boner for Caldwell.

The Gov gave Caldwell a lesson in marking around he ground, they were the days when Gov played in the ruck and considered himself to be a genuine ruckman going forward.

What’s the story there?

The Govs year reflects the wider clubs efforts - lots of upside if ..... IF !!!

Was always going to take a few years to excise the Fremantle genes his old man passed down.

Great stuff Gov. What a star he has been.
