The most popular picks for today, after applying Pieman subs.

Darcy wasn't the most popular pick initially but he happens to be Pieman sub 12 times.

PIEMAN RESULTS RD 8 v Hawthorn

Not commenting on the result except to say that at least we kicked fairly accurately (14.7). Fourteen goals mean we had a few decent Pieman scores. We even had a Chump.

Carryover Teams and Pieman Substitutes
Only seven carryover teams this week but they all required substitutes:
  • cecil got 2x Darcy (20) replacing 2x West
  • Fossie 32 got 1x Darcy (10) replacing 1x West
  • lateniter got 2x Darcy (20) replacing 2x Lobb
  • StringyDog got 1x Darcy (10) replacing 1x West
  • theAthenian got 1x Dale (0) replacing 1x West and 1x Vandermeer (48) replacing 1x Weightman
  • TiAn_ got 3x Darcy (30) replacing 3x Lobb
  • Wocka got 1x Dale (0) replacing 1x Lobb and 1x Darcy (10) replacing 1x West
Then there were a few who had Baker in their Pieman team. He was named the WB sub so they all got a Pieman sub to replace him:
  • manutd/dogs got 1x Dale (0)
  • RandomDog got 1x Darcy (10)
  • weltschmerz got 1x Darcy (10)
All up this took Darcy's popularity from 24 times picked to 36!

The KELVIN

There was just the one chump this week but it was enough to earn Fossie 32 (204) his first Kelvin for the year. Fossie's was a carryover team and so was the second place getter StringyDog (172) with his triple dose of Vandermeer. In third was Bont2Bruce (156) and then Snarls Barkley (144). They cashed in on Vandermeer too.

Average score was 82.74 and the median was 82.

The PIEMAN

Our leader chez_ferret registered a modest 74 points but it was enough to keep him in the lead for the 8th week running. This week's Kelvin third place getter Bont2Bruce made up 82 points on the ferret but is still 16 points off the lead. Buckingham is still 17 points off the lead, just behind B2B. Bulldog rick is 41 points back in 4th place and theAthenian who has taken leave from BF for a while moved up a few places with his carryover team. Fossie's big Kelvin win moved him up from 26th to 12th.

Watch out ferret, they're closing in on you!

Pieman Player of the Week

Bailey Williams wins PPotW from Richards and Vandermeer.
It was unusual to see 6 different players kick 2 goals.

Best possible score was a chump of Williams, Richards, Vandermeer, English and Bontempelli which would have given you 255 base points and another 102 bonus points for a total of 357.

Best possible non-chump score was 3x Williams and 2x Richards which would have been worth 346 points.

Pieman Player of the Year

We have a new season leader. Marcus Bontempelli has taken over from Cody Weightman while the Astro has moved into second spot.
