Thought he was okay as a young prospect.
Should apply heat on Jones. Rather easy one on one, and couldn’t keep up with Treacy. He’s a one trick pony- intercept marks, and if he doesn’t get his way, he’s a massive liability
Especially late in games, v Carlton and Port. It’s obvious what Ryan does in kick ins. He can roost it but it’s pointless when it’s just a spoil forward and suddenly it’s inside 50 again.
English has never been about hitouts. Case in point he got dominated by an aging Goldstein v Essendon. I think he conceded 50 hitouts last season 5 times. As an AA ruckman, that’s crazy.
Honestly, he’s a forward first and ruckman second. But because Western Bulldogs have talls galore, ruck it...
I feel Sturt can have a role such as Fritsch, who provides absolutely no defensive pressure and isn’t required to. It’s just goals.
Having every forward needing to do it for Fremantle is silly, IMO. What do the coaches value more? Clearly defensive acts.
Why not have a crack at having three alternative forwards with Jackson.
Pigeonholing Jackson into a ruck or forward is denying the team to really have a unique player capable of breaking games open. He would be a bigger better version of Blicavs.
It was him using his elite knowledge of stoppages and reading the game. He doesn’t have to be fast, or bash and crash like during Brownlow years. His first touches are amongst the best in the league.
Love the fact he can just go forward and use his marking as a strength
Want to trial Voss with Amiss and Treacy. Don’t think will lose any speed.
Jackson as unicorn role.
In:
Amiss.
Hughes (as much as people dislike it, he ll get in as experienced)
Out:
JOM (for the 100th time, won’t happen)
Draper
Brayshaw actually has been fine tbh. Consistent, he’s been running everywhere. Different role. He’s trying to add goal kicking to his repertoire, which as a midfielder is gold.
