    The 2000AD Thread

I started reading it when I was a kid from prog 1 and, like you stopped sometime in the 90's due to supply being unreliable and quality going downhill. It's the only comic I've ever really loved. So many great stories, characters and the artwork was fantastic. Can't believe today how they kept...

    Your favourite lyrics?

I've always liked the lyrics for Orgasmatron by Motorhead. I am the one, Orgasmatron, the outstretched grasping hand My image is of agony, my servants rape the land Obsequious and arrogant, clandestine and vain Two thousand years of misery, of torture in my name Hypocrisy made paramount...

    Nineteen Eighty-Four

Probably my favourite novel of all time. Very different to any other novel I've read but it but it's brilliant on so many different levels. It's just so bleak and prophetic. Time hasn't aged it at all. I remember the movie got very luke warm reviews way back when so I've never seen it. I seem...

Work & Education Hangar Book Club

Can remember reading that when I was a kid in the 2000AD comic. I loved it and the artwork was indeed great. 2000AD produced alot of great strips.

Yeah discovered Peccatum recently. Love that song and clip. Couldn't get the chorus out of my head for weeks. The dude in the chesty bond shirt creeps me out a bit though.

Yeah, big fan of Mournful Congregation. Not a doom band but this album has really been growing on me over the last year or so. Black/death from Bahrain. I think the Middle Eastern influence fits in quite well. Apparently a new album is in the pipework which surprised me. I kinda thought this...

The Traveling Vampire Show - Richard Laymon

The Travelling Vampire Show was the first book by Laymon that I read and I loved it, pretty much for the same reasons mentioned in the OP, so I was looking foward to reading through his backlog. After reading another 3 of his books I gave up. From memory they were Funland, A Night At The Beast...

    Bigfooty General Metal Thread Mk.VI

Been on a Funeral Doom binge lately and just came across Murkrat. Love the female vocals, in fact she plays every instrument aside from having a guy on drums, and does all the song writing. Definately out there but I love it. May be of interest to other doom fans. They are also Aussies...

Whats the best live band you have seen?

+1 for Motorhead. Saw them last March and thought it was the best gig I'd been to in many years, one of the best ever actually. As you can see from my avatar, I'm a fan, so I wasn't expecting to be disapointed but that performance was close to perfect.
