Great to have footy back! Happy we got though without any injuries, the win was a nice bonus.
Liked the look of our forward line with Fas and PK providing classy goalkicking options. Interesting to hear how complimentary Jono Brown was about PK and his ability to find space.
I just had a good look at the 2014 stats for these 3 guys to get a better idea of their performances in previous years.
Greenwood has really good stats across the board, stong numbers for clearances, tackles, inside 50's, plus he kicks goals. I predict he will be our 2nd or 3rd most prolific...
Anybody care to guess how the Lumumba/Varcoe/Clark deal is going to work?
I recall Balme saying an exchange of picks would be involved.
Do we end up with a pick upgrade given the prince should be worth more than Varcoe?
Gotta say that Bris have done a brilliant job of negotiating and selling their position as one of being co-operative and trying to sweeten their offer. I aint buying it, but plenty of others seem to have been worn down and almost accepting the rough end of the pineapple.
If they emerge from...
Given the club has said we will try and bring in a ready made player as a replacement for Beams/Lumumba, I'm interested to hear opinions of which players we would be targeting.
Looks like both Danger and Greenwood are unlikely.. Who else might we be realistically looking at?
Bris may like to say Aish is not an option, but I doubt it very much. He would be more than happy to move back to SA, if that was on offer, I'm sure we could facilitate that in part of a 3-way trade.
I cant see why Beams alone wouldn't get pick 4 + Aish. Beams is the best player to be on the trade table for a long time. If he wasn't restricted to the QLD clubs, most of the other clubs would be falling over each other to secure him.
It's going to be very hard to replace him with a player...
Yes, we have cut a bit deeper than anticipated, but that doesnt make us a bottom 4 side next year.
I think Geelong is better suited to Clarks circumstances, we would always have been too close to home and he would've been subjected to much more pressure and scrutiny with us. His decision...
Have heard this many times and think it's a win/win/win for all concerned.
I don't see why some are saying it will never happen? It's been well documented that each of these guys wishes to get back to their respective home states, this trade allows that to happen. Maybe there might need to...
