I’d be happy if we walked away from the MSD and said we just decided to take the two best defensive mids outside the AFL system.
In the hope that we lay a tackle through the middle of the ground or see a player run both ways by the end of the year.
They average about 70 points against, we average about 120.
They’re a pretty average list but their defensive structures make them a lot better than us. Going full Ross Lyon isn’t an option but at least take something from them.
Not sure what the point of subbing him off today was, especially with a bye coming up.
Try something different, like play him as a 7th defender and try and use him as a distributor on the way out. Anything is better than him sitting on the bench.
Giving game time to Lazzaro over him is ridiculous.
Groundhog Day/week.
Start ok give up a couple of late ones, 2nd qtr compete ok and give up a late one.
Take the 3rd qtr off.
4th qtr watch the opposition and us go through the motions because the game is completely shot to bits.
2 of them will be retired, one will probably request a trade and who knows what happens to fumbles Lazzaro.
In saying that I’m sure we could find better options than Dylan Shiel.
That's not what i'm asking.
It was more a general comment about everybody thinking it's easier on the body to play in the back half so chuck players coming back from injury in the back 6.
I think it's a myth.
Has there ever been any research on why blokes coming back from injury are better off playing in the back half?
It’s like somebody said it one day and now everybody believes it.
Happy to see this stat, I’ve mention several times on this forum over the last 18 months that he’s our best ball user and decision maker going inside 50.
In true North style we’ll win this week, Rich will take Scaife at 1 and he’ll turn into Royce Hart.
We’ll end up with some medium sized high half forward who’ll be playing at Deer Park by 2026.
It's easy, win clearances, win stoppages and contested ball. Find better ball users and get cleaner and deeper entries inside 50. Do this and we'll start to improve our defence across the entire ground.
We've seen Comben play less than 10 games as a forward, i think his impact as a forward would be similar to others in their first 10 games of AFL footy. Some of his games at VFL level were pretty good as a forward.
In saying that he looks really comfortable down back and I'm happy for him to...
