Player Watch Nick Daicos - Can he be the GOAT?

Yes, and? It's 2024 champ, not every centre bounce is in and under handball. Daicos is a fantastic player, but the current day stats are not what they once were. Even metres gained means nothing given the modern gameplan of go backwards to switch or create space

Player Watch Nick Daicos - Can he be the GOAT?

Don't wanna be that guy, but you can also get a clearance on the outside...

Player Watch Nick Daicos - Can he be the GOAT?

Yeah, it's a quirk of the stat. There's 4 contested possessions. Hard ball get (in the contest, in and under), and loose ball get. Then you have mark on the lead and mark in the contest
  4. Mitchell Madness

Player Watch Nick Daicos - Can he be the GOAT?

Contested possession is counted if you get the "loose ball"

    Rules Holding the ball

Define prior I see plenty of players at all levels pick up the ball and try to charge through the pack. That's ball as far as I'm concerned

    Rules Holding the ball

The new interpretation has shown something. The teams who got away with a lot are suddenly a bit squirmy, while the rest are suddenly looking a lot better

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 12 - Cats v Tigers Sat June 1st 7:30pm AEST (GMHBA)

Against Geelong you do. They rely on the oppo going slow, which allows them to get back and counter attack

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 12 - Cats v Tigers Sat June 1st 7:30pm AEST (GMHBA)

Richmond stopped doing what was working (running through and keeping kicks low) and have done what geelong live (and what most teams do), get it to the wing with short kicks then bomb it long and high

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 12 - Cats v Tigers Sat June 1st 7:30pm AEST (GMHBA)

The action which is dangerous takes precedent, it's been that way for 30 odd years

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 12 - Cats v Tigers Sat June 1st 7:30pm AEST (GMHBA)

Not really. He dumped the player after the ball was out. Even if the ump was going to pay ball, the dump takes precedent

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 12 - Cats v Tigers Sat June 1st 7:30pm AEST (GMHBA)

I am because it's been clear for years that the ball "winner" has no intention of moving the ball

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 12 - Cats v Tigers Sat June 1st 7:30pm AEST (GMHBA)

Don't think tigers will have enough in the tank to win this, but they're doing what is required to beat the cats - run and keep the ball low, which takes away geelongs intercept game

  22. Mitchell Madness

    Rules Holding the ball

New interpretation is a winner. A couple of questionable calls, but that's going to happen anyway. What it has already done has limited the congestion. Teams aren't committing numbers to the contest because they know if they do they risk being caught out

Autopsy Round 12, 2024: Hawks stone the Crows

Can't fault this overall. Got a good lead early, got challenged, but still kept control of the game and never looked like losing No stand outs (even Moore 5 didn't feel like a 5 goal game) edit some people don't understand a joke when they see it, so very clearly people - ITS A JOKE!
