Absolute rubbish. What have you seen that suggests Laird, current AFC club champion having played on-ball, will be pulled from the midfield to play of half back?
He's 29, not 34. Have a spell.
That's the one. If there were 18 teams, you'd have had picks 18 + 19, 54 + 55, etc
Looks like you got who many on the boards believe will be the #1 FWD, #1 RUC, and #1 DEF. Not bad.
Hi all. I've been quietly tweaking my team all summer, while reading these boards. One element I cannot work out is the relevance of Cunnington.
32, hasn't played a lot of footy in the last three years, and is now competing for time on ball with the best NM midfield in a long time (Simpkin...
You and your continued diatribe on these boards are boring. It requires no insight or consideration to automatically assume a negative position on everything the club does.
You've not seen him play yet. We could've signed Tom Stewart as the McAsey replacement and you would complain. Have a spell.
I've held him in the past in Keeper leagues. When given the opportunity he can score well. Never got a fair crack at GWS and Carlton. Looking at the Essendon list, I'm not confident he'll get his fair run at it there either. Reminds me of Hately at the Crows - on paper should be in midfield...
I can't bring myself to select Grundy yet. Too much unknown.
I've got English + Marshall + Madden, with Cameron in my FWD line. Thinking here is I can loop Cameron in if an injury hits the RUC line for 1-2 weeks.
If Grundy is the man at Melb, I will be making a change. Like you say, the value...
Witherden took quite a few when he played. The issue is he and Hurn didn't seem to play much together though, with Hurn out for a good chunk of the year.
I agree with you. Almost all of them have the potential to be disrupted. I look to Short last season (albeit not a top 6 DEF) getting moved on-ball and it ruining his scoring.
I feel like you need at least one of those top tier guys,, though. Bringing in all of them via trades is going to...
I don't know if there is much growth in Touk's output. The potential in that midfield is clearly with Rowell. Touk is already a monster, but has Rowell and Anderson around him to take points off him.
Thomas under Clarko has to be pencilled in at this point. Off HB with his head right, he could be a top 5 DEF. Will make you $$$ at the very least.
I'm not on Cunnington at all. Won't be top 10 FWD, and won't make you cash to upgrade. He's a trap.
Fyfe will break your heart. Obviously can...
Hi all. I hope I'm not intruding.
Curious to hear how Witherden is tracking this preseason. Does he look like he'll be starting 22?
As a neutral observer it felt like he copped a bit of unfair criticism from some sections throughout a poor 2022 for WCE. The ball was coming into defensive 50...
My thoughts also.
I'm not convinced Warner is the first tagged. Parker and Mills are established A-graders. Florent and Papley run through as impact players. Plus Warner has played well with attention throughout the year.
Like you say, CBAs and TOG more relevant - both of which increased...
Let's all remember his contract. Reportedly over $400k a season. That would have been a big factor considered by all potential buyers.
If I am a Melbourne based recruiter/list manager, I'm not paying that salary nor am I giving up trade currency when I know I can get him for nothing on a more...
Had been injured for most of the past 2 years, this will be his first full preseason in a long time. When fully fit he was one of the first picked for Suns.
Of those three, Warner for me.
I have Warner in my keeper league squad. I expected a rise last season, but not to the extent we saw. I'm not as worried as others about the potential tag he cop. Uses the ball well and runs all day. Will be fine.
Rowbottom is a fine player but I don't see him...
Back to SC - Pedlar is not SC relevant in '23. If you're in a keeper league and have the space in your squad, he'd be a good player to stash away and watch his improvement next season. High impact player and will only get better as his fitness improves.
The team you support is quite relevant when you're bagging another club, especially when first round midfielder is your angle.
A bit early to be calling Pedlar a dud. Will Phillips hasn't set the world on fire yet, but it would be foolish to label him a dud so early. Context is key, and...
A North Melbourne supporter getting stuck into another club on any topic is a bit rich. But first round midfielders... Come on, mate.
As for Pedlar - has not yet got his body right for us to see his potential output. His tank isn't there yet, and has had surgery on his shoulder recently to...
