Wow, some really trash Eagles fans in this thread. Your team has had a red hot go and you should be pumping them up but decide to go for 20 posts about umpires and Swans being cheats. Classless.
I think the brand is clear and the list is positioned to provide it. The Tigers gave manic pressure and it broke down the game plan. If you apply enough defensive pressure to any team they will have difficulty executing.
It proved that we are a very talented but still very young side and fumbled under pressure. Those 3 veteran players in Parker, Mills and Adams would have proven very handy I think. Losing Rampe also didn't help matters. You win or you learn.
Exposed us by losing by 30 points. Alright champ.
Swans are still a young side so less talented teams will try to intimidate them but they've proved equal to the task so far.
Another case of great footballer, s**t bloke. NRL can have him.
We just had that great tribute to Spud and if his sad end isn't enough to convince you that the game needs to protect players against head injuries then I don't know what to say.
I don't think Wright was trying to iron Cunningham...
I don't think Wright was trying to iron Cunningham out. It was just clumsy but he chose to jump and brace and copped him high so he'll do the time. The Draper incident definitely had more malice in it but was ineffective luckily.
We're still in that transition where we're caught between...
Agreed but that's not what I asked. Have we seen him at any point sniping people? I know the mob doesn't have much in the way of reason but I'm amused that they are saying he's a dirty player.
All the nuffies on Facebook are saying that Papley is a sniper and a hypocrite.
Now I know I'm seeing this through red and white lenses but how is Papley a sniper? I get that he's lippy and carries on after a goal so I understand why he gets under the skin of opposition players and fans. I...
So, paraphrasing Brad Scott...
"We knew we were going to get flogged so I told the boys to just go the niggle off the ball all night to put them off their game and save some face."
I remember Clarkson himself saying that coaches don't have a great deal of influence on Grand Final day. By that stage it's up to the players mostly. Horse has been a great coach for us and he's produced a brand of football that has seen us be regular finalists and appear in four grand finals...
He's one of those class players where time just seems to slow down for him. He's not a speedster but he just weaves through traffic and gets the options he wants.
I'd say Parker forward, Heeney in the middle. Mills one of the best two way mids in the game so can't agree on that one. Adams an unknown quantity for us.
