I’m one of those who thinks Harley has inspired our senior players to fire up and given our junior players confidence to take the game on, so I think we will revert to pre-Harley form and lose this game by a bit.
The period before our lord and saviour joined the club shall be forever known as...
Yes I’ve noticed this too mate. They go on about tugby league like it’s the greatest thing ever when only two states in Australia actually care about it, and then s**t on AFL any chance they get. It’s a trash website anyway.
If you look at the Facebook comments on that post, it actually has 99% of people saying they have no problem with it. news.com.au just hates the AFL because they are a Sydney publication, so the only time they publish anything about the AFL is to s**t on it.
I spoke to my grandad about the war once as he was a gunner on a World War II destroyer, and the s**t he told me in 10 minutes was enough to give me nightmares. The thing is he wasn’t even trying to upset me. I don’t know how those guys slept at night after the things they went through.
It makes no ******* sense that they keep overlooking Trew. Why give the kid a contract if you’re not gonna select him when his best on ground for your wafl side every week?
He’s an inside mid too so he could easily slot in and take over from Harley. It makes a mockery of our selection process in...
It’s just another case of the AFL making up rules to penalise us. We have had so many of them over the years, from the official investigation into the drug saga going on at our club, which isn’t happening at Melbourne or Sydney or Western Bulldogs for any of these other guys that have been...
If Reid’s out in order to protect him from overuse then I’m all good with that. Barrass being out sux so I’d bring in Trew for Harley, get rid of Sheed and bring Ryan in and have Edwards take Barrass’s spot. If Ryan’s not 100% game fit he can start as the sub.
They did a bit on The Couch tonight about Harley. Apparently his 19 possession game was the most highly rated game based on impact points in over a decade.
When I watched it just now it seemed like they were both equally in traffic at the start but Oscar just kept dropping back. I know it’s a new track for him but to be losing 1 second a lap on your teammate is too much.
Fair enough mate. I’m in agreement. Having said that, we had a lot of senior players like that. I honestly feel like Harleys enthusiasm and ability has woken everyone up.
And yet when I mentioned this in other threads I was attacked (not by you obviously). I’d give him a game or two to try and get up to speed and lay some tackles, but if he doesn’t improve from what he’s shown the last few years then he shouldnt be in the team.
When they showed his impact points during the game, despite the fact that he had a few less possessions than some, his impact rating was almost double the next player.
You’re entitled to your opinion but I disagree. He was better last year than Sheed was coz he can at least win his own footy and tackle the opposition. Sheed just watched them run away with the footy.
That doesn’t explain why the guy who has been our best most weeks hasn’t been given an opportunity though. There’s plenty of scope to play him in the top side as an inside mid by moving Ginbey to a more outside role if needed, or even Kelly could do that if we wanted to, but we just leave him...
