Wouldn't call this a smashing. Grundy has won almost every battle against the opposing ruckman this season. He's definitely in contention for the AA spot. Leading Disposal getter out of all Ruckman and coming 2nd in Hitouts. His numbers seem to stand out against the rest. Him and Jacobs in my...
Couldn't Agree more I think Marsh could improve his kicking but his speed would really improve our backline and if he locked down other teams fast men it would enable us to get more run out of Marley or even Ox. Not that Ox does much defending tho.
I think if you want Moore to become a 2nd tall which would be a big role for him he'd need to play a few more games. With White not contributing too much (mainly with missed kicks) it would be good to see Moore have a run as a third tall (assuming Grundy will play) while White can get confidence...
It wasn't the actual turnovers that killed us , it was the way the Hawks were able to sprint into our empty forward line after the turnovers as we had pushed up the ground and were unprepared for an attack, I think that's when Marsh would've been helpful.
I think it was a bad time to debut as many players are coming back the next week. I would've liked to see Marsh have a crack instead of Maynard against Hawthorn as Marsh would've been fast Enough to prevent the goals from Turnovers.
Well at the moment Collingwood must win games and he wasn't up to it. Maynard is still developing and needs more work in the VFL before he can earn a spot in the AFL. He currently isn't in the best 22 players available so no point in playing him when there are other young players better than him...
Seems to be working so far doing both at 5th on the ladder with 3/4 of the 2014 National draft pickups have playing a game at senior level so far. The pies average age last game for the 22 against the Hawks was 3.5 years less than there 22.
Don't understand the hate on Toovey, he is one the top defenders and wasn't the only back unable to keep up with the pace of the Hawks attack. The game plan from the Hawthorn attack was always going to outplay our defence.
Ye true, but against Port we need a good team as it is a must win game and at the moment he isn't ready. The current team is young enough so there is no need to rush these young players in who aren't ready and he definatley isn't ready.
Ye would be, he is a long term project so hopefully the pies stay by him. Still think they should give Moore a crack next week, he was clearly nervous for his first game and he is a big part of the future of the pies. He deserves another shot.
The only way I see him getting a run is if Witts goes out and Witts has been matching it with some of the top ruckman at the moment so it would probably require an injury for him to Debut.
In:
-Brodie Grundy
-Levi Greenwood
Out:
-Jesse White
-Brayden Maynard
Few Points:
*Grundy and Greenwood(If he is ok) are ready to go surely they don't need another game in the VFL, don't think it'll do them much good.
*Jesse White just needs to find his form
*Brayden Maynard just isn't up to...
