I thought the cat mascot was based on an actual cat entering the field of play long ago, but according to Geelong's website is was a cartoonist who came up with the idea in 1923 of a black cat to (paradoxically) reverse their run of bad luck/results. So definitely a standard kitty...

I wouldn't think so - it looks sufficiently different to me, and I'd imagine there's not a great deal of cross-over in terms of target markets. It's understandable other broadcasters might want to have a logo based on a Lissajous curve related to sound production (in ABC's case for radio & tv)...

From across the border I couldn't quite fathom the whole Westar Rules thing. I didn't realise this design was part of that (I recall it now, with a demon head on it). I agree that an early design of theirs would make more sense, but I'm happy to see a different design to their usual sash one...

Hi Mero. Thanks for taking the time to update all the jumpers with sponsor logos - a monumental task! The Gold Coast Away jumper icon is still showing as in AFLGoalsBehinds' post above, however when you click on it you get the correct image.
