You’re right. We had chances mid way in the 3rd Q to put Melbourne away and take a 5-6 goal lead at the break, instead we didn’t convert and when we needed our midfield to stand up, they didn’t.

Can only blame the midfield for that last 5 minutes.

Our midfield goes to sleep at a crucial time in the match... whats even worse is I don’t think Gawn was at all those centre clearances

Williams has cost us 2 goals. This lead is almost too much already.

In general we have a good record at Adelaide Oval vs Port Adelaide. If I recall correctly we've won there at least 4 times since 2016 (2016, 2019, 2021 x 2). Yes, Schache kicked 3 in that game in 2019 I think.

St. Kilda will be very lonely amongst Vic clubs with 1 flag, if we win another.

Exactly. I take only pure joy out of St Kilda meltdowns, which are becoming more and more common every season. Their fans are up there with Essendon and Richmond for me.

Didn't we have a 10-2 or 9-1-2 start in 2008? I guess there's one less dominate team this season than in that season (Geelong and Hawthorn). I'm just worried about how we lose, seems like it can fall apart a bit easy against well coached sides.
