Thought I'd get in early to see thoughts on how we might shape up next year. My team (not including any potential trades in / out).
B: Hardwick Frost Sicily
HB: CJ DGB Impey
C: Bramble Worpel Day
HF: Gunston Jeka Breust
F: Moore Kosi Wingard
R: Reeves Mitchell O'Meara
Int: Scrimshaw Newcombe...
FB: S. Burgoyne B. Lake B. Stratton
HB: G. Birchall J. Frawley J.Gibson
Great mix of tall, medium and small defenders. Undoubtedly the most skilled in the comp. Add in one L. Hodge to come back next week... and it's not even a contest really.

Very interesting. Malceski has been instrumental to Sydney's rise this year. Would hate to lose him....
Excluding hodge who went off at effectively half time, we only had 2 players who will not be playing in 4 years time playing today.. gibbo and burger. Against a very good team who i think will push for top 4.
We're only going to get better, with anderson, stratton, shoey, woody, hallahan...
From the AFL website, apparently Fox Footy will be televising the draft
http://www.afl.com.au/tv-radio/2013-broadcast-information/2013-afl-event-broadcasts
However looking on the Online Foxtel Guide, it doesn't appear as though the draft will be televised.... anyone know which is correct?
IIRC 2014 is meant to be a bumper year for free agents. Is there a list anywhere? From memory, Griffen from the Dogs is available which would be a massive coup...
Given Hawthorn is every chance to front load a number of contracts and have quite a warchest available next year, this is obviously...
What are peoples opinion on Sydney of 2014?
Stole this team off the swans board
FB: Smith, Richards, Shaw
HB: Malceski, Grundy, Rampe
C: Hannebery, McVeigh, Jack
HF: O'Keefe, Franklin, Rohan
F: Goodes, Tippett, Bird
R: Pyke, Kennedy, Parker
Int: Roberts-Thomson, Everitt, Jetta, Mitchell
IMO...
Is a pretty interesting comparison (I think).
Hawthorn, considered the best attacking team in 2012, with a vulnerable defense.
Sydney, the best defensive team in 2012, with lackluster forward options.
Both gone to the trade table to retify their perceived weakness.
My question is, who do you...

The empire is crumbling and now even Port players are turning up their nose at coming to Cat land.
The Status Quo has returned - mediocrity will reign once again in Geelong.
So far schoey's had Hawkins kick 3.2 and Tippett kick 3.3 on him... Respectable returns from a young player on 2 of the comps best performing power forwards this year..
Stewart Crameri has kicked 3.5 in 3/4 against the spud.. Maybe if the cheaters had someone of the shoe's quality they...
After all the talk of Budweiser playing more through the midfield, followed closely by a lot of people saying we need him forward, just wanted to see how many teams would actually have a better forward line than us without buddy:
HF: Rioli Roughead Burgoyne
FF: Bruest Hale Gunston
You...

What would be a fair and equitable trade for both...
Either via draft, or natural list progression, what do we need to improve going forward?
Current list
Roughy coming back strong would probably be number 1 on the list (he has mentioned in some interviews he should be right to go round 1)
Schoenmakers and Lisle to both improve - with full...
QF2: Hawthorn V Geelong
PF1: Collingwood V Loser of QF2
GF: Winner of QF2 V Winner of PF1
Every other game this year is a foregone conclusion.
WCE, Carl, Saints...etc.. should really just give up now - start preparing for 2012 early.
Rnd 11: Savage - "Calf" - 1 week
Rnd 12: Bailey - "Knee/Shoulder/?" - 1 week
Rnd 13: Shoey - "Foot?"...
Is it possible that we are surreptitiously resting players?
I wonder who will be a "late withdrawl" next week.
They want a first rounder for each of a spud ruckman and a soft hack with broken shoulders?
You should thank god you're even being offered a 2nd rounder for these donkeys.
..how s**t must your real leader be?

Atleast ours is the best player in the competition. The Handbaggers is a wannabe hardman who isn't in the top 200.
Nice to see the Geelong Wankfest continues over jSpud, but just wanted to highlight some troubling stats from the downhill skiing spud:
Pictured: jSpud kicking another junk time goal
James Spudsiadly 2010:
Goals at Skilled Stadium: 25
Average: 5.0
Goals away from Skilled: 9*

From the last 12 games of the season, we play 9 teams in the top 8. 2 more than any other team, with the majority of top 4 all playing 4-5 top 8 teams.
I'm choosing to view it as a good thing; if we manage to snag a...
Not only are we subjected to the nasal "fran drescher"-esk commentary of Kellie Underwood, but they couple that with the sound of Malcolm Blight* and Tim Lane beating off to all the Carlton players.
Channel 10... Shame Shame Shame.
Dead set gun. Severely under-rated player. Is consistently good week in week out.
Went to Brown in the second half and kept him to 0.1 and about 5 touches.
Shame he plays for port. If he played for a Victorian team he would be rated in the top 5 backmen.

After beating the superstar Gumbleton last week, Bomber has decided Lonergan is now ready to stand Buddy on Monday.
Thiis begs the question.... What the **** is Bomber thinking?
As the majority of people would consider Geelongs midfield to be number 1, who takes the cake for number 2?
I have included all other teams for completeness, unlike some threads which shall not be discussed.
List your teams midfield and I will update the following list:
Brisbane: Black...
