My theory for our forward line this week. Gunston, with Ginni, Moore, Watson and bruest (hopefully both fit) and camas, and even bring in O’Sullivan or Bennets, and simply instruct the players to just scrub the ball in. No long bomb, just grabbers and dribblers and see if our smalls can compete...
Not sure it’s logical to move our best player so far this year out of his preferred position when he’s already playing up a weight division and still performing strongly
I swear our lawyers must have standing dinner plans on tuesdays, or squash or something, hence our refusal to go to the tribunal. Must have been a bye week when Sicily’s was challenged
Tough watch at the game today and rally, it was a different level of class today watching them and us. Issue is, they probably made as many mistake as we did, which shows our effort and pressure was good, but when they had a chance to punish us, they did. They kicked their goals, they hit up...
Disagree. was at the game last night and that game was theirs to lose. Kicked poorly in front of goal, gifted the Cats 3 goals from shocking turnovers from guys like Weitering etc who you'd back to not make those mistakes, were against a side that was given some interesting interpretations of...
Assuming Lewis and Day in, it’s actually hard to find guys to omit.
Huss is the obvious one, the other not so.
If Dimma goes back. Then Serong goes out, but he was rewarded with a spot due to consistent performances at box hill (coaches own words), so stiff to drop him after one game, even if he...
17 marks is huge, but I wonder who's spot he takes.
Is he a Key position and takes Frost's position?
Does he push out Sicily and Scrimshaw as our interceptors (one is the captain, the other is the arguably top 2 in the crimmins medal right now)
Best mates with McCluggage apparently, have been for years. Both free agents. Apparently we've already spoken to McCluggage, so why not make a huge offer to get both across. Berry instantly walks into out midfield, and McCluggage and Amon (he's not a defender Sam) on the wings we'd be set for...
Honestly, I'm not that worried if we lose today (that being said I'm sure I'll be losing my head if we're behind late).
Really, it's round 6, we're not making finals this year and our goal is still twofold, get games into the kids, and develop a game plan. Winning a round 6 game won't change...
Great to see Calsher go well yesterday, and yeah, people will point to the fact it's north, but good forwards fill their boots against poorer sides, so it's pleasing to see
It's why I'm shitty Ramsden got dropped this week and didn't play any footy this week. He's finally got a chance to play...
In all make sense.
Does Sammy make an actual statement and drop a best 22 player, like a Nash or Ward, or does he just stick to the fringes?
I’d like Serong to get a run, just not sure who he’d come in for
I’d drop Nash for Morrison, Husthwaite full game, Ward more inside mid, Morrison wing. Make a statement with Nash that you can’t rely on last year’s performance any more
Butler gone, O’Sullivan in. Butler feels like Nash 2.0 in the he dominates box hill when played in a role, then doesn’t play...
Thought it was interesting today, was listening to the Hawks Insiders podcast on their review of the suns game. One of the host., nat Martin I think, was recalling something from Xavier Ellis’s pod where they had heard from some inside the club during the preseason that several of the younger...
I'd go no changes, and back the kids in. Not convinced on Finn, though he seemed to get a bit of it yesterday despite tagging, which is good and bad at the same time.
I want butler to get a month and back the kid in. Let's find him a role and let him develop. We need these kids to put...
I watched some of the Freo game, and I must say, I barely saw him. Does he even have a role there?? I've actually completely forgot about him if truth betold.
Really impressed yesterday. Presented really well all game, took some good marks, took his shot at goal well and held up in the ruck. Give him a month if we can somehow.
He's been impressive so far Uses it well, runs all day and has shown a tougher edge than expected. Just need to find a way to free him up more and more to utilise his kicking. But it's been a great start
Happy and really disappointed.
Happy we showed a lot in the second half and again, our best can stand up against the best.
Meek, excellent, newc and Worpel were too, backline stood up for the most part and forwards found a way to get back in to it.
Disappointed that we again had a quarter where...
Second loss at home for the Lions, top 4 is gone I’d reckon.
Forward line looks average, especially if Hipwood and Daniher drop this many marks every week
How Finn was sub still baffles me.baffled me all day as Merrett cut us to pieces.
28 shots on goal though, defence worked hard with little support from the midfield and all the debutants showed plenty.
There’s plenty there to build on, but mids need to lift big time
he was average, but that’s fine. First game and did have 3 shots on goal.
showed everything we wanted, certainly lively and I think in time, that botched f50 entry will be a long shot at goal
Pretty pumped, heading down to watch tomorrow.
I honestly have no idea We'll be like tomorrow. If you told me we'd win by 5+ goals, I'd probably agree. If you said we'd lose but that amount, I'd struggle to disagree.
It's a genuine mystery
Personally, I don't think he's a winger. he's an onballer being played on the wing. He'd be much better suited to the midfield rotation. However, his spot is probably taken by Nash and Worpel and with Day coming back, he'll be pushed further back.
Frustating thing for a winger is you can get...
