I'm a big fan of Geelong. All too often I have tipped their opponents only to find Cats do it again - Hawthorn, I am looking at you. Jordan Bannister. I'm biased. But there something to be said for other ex-AFL players becoming field umpires. They might have a better feel for the game esp on decisions involving prior opportunity and the like.
