This is my mid-late season B22, once the kids have been able to establish themselves a little:
FB Hough Barrass Cole
HB Jones McGovern Duggan
C Hunt Kelly Ginbey
HF Long Allen Cripps
FF Brockman Maric Ryan
R Flynn Yeo Reid
I/C B.Williams Hewett Petrecelle Sheed

My personal feeling is that Maric may be the CHB we are screaming out for. Once filled out his size should be sufficient, great reader of the play and very tidy kick. I think he'd be able to be very damaging intercepting and distributing out of the back half. Also helps with team balance, much...
It'd have to be a F2 going back to Melbourne if feel.
Otherwise pretty fair scenario that I could accept if it did eventuate.

We don't draft players from outside WA, unless we do, and when we do it doesn't count because it was us who drafted them.
Is that the essence of your argument?

At that point is it worth simplifying by just going 1 for 2, 3, 14? I think it'd be North's preference to not bother with a swap as meaningless as 19 for 20. Maybe 34 and 39 for a future 2nd, or something to that effect?
Yep, knew there'd be plenty of players I missed. Still feel that the ranges I've given for players aren't wildly off, despite a bit more dilution of the pool.
In my post I assumed they wouldn't, but if they do end up getting 3, something like 1 + 20 for 2 + 3 is what I would expect. Not sure how much difference 3 vs 5 is really going to make in this draft, seems pretty even around that 2-8 mark.
If they get 3 but want to keep 2 for the purposes of...
My preference is to just take Reid, but all the talk has got me thinking about what a realistic trade for pick 1 would look like, so I decided to theorise how it might play out.
Made a couple assumptions while cobbling this together, namely:
-North DO NOT get band 1 compo for Mckay
-North trade...
Agreed. Somehow he's gone from nobody during the preseason to among my favourite players, and actually has been the one I've been most disappointed to not see on the field the last few weeks.
5- Allen. What a special player we have here
4- Sheed. Prolific through the middle, and feel that he is adapting to the faster game style.
3- Duggan. Found plenty, added some much needed grunt around the contest. Use left a little to be desired, but still a solid day out.
2- Jones. Ran hard...
In: Barnett, Sheed
Out: Bazzo (Concussion) SPS (Suspension)
Barnett to split time between FB and ruck. Hope he lives up to his (nick)namesake, cause we need a hero right now.
5- Williams. Not going to pretend I've always had his back, but has consistently impressed me this year. Confident there is an AFL player there, this game showed it might be a good one
4- Kelly. Massive again, really is carrying a huge amount of the load in the middle.
3- Barrass. Great use of...
