    Victorian Clubs "Drowning"

West Coast and Freo have over 100,000 members between them. Probably around 120,000. The situation in South Australia would be very similar. The four clubs will have 250,000+ members between them within five years. How do you expect an AFL competition to survive without them?

    Victorian Clubs "Drowning"

I was more referring to the fact that the WA and SA teams are well-supported, self-sufficient and well run clubs. The other four cannot make the same claim.

    Victorian Clubs "Drowning"

I really wish that the Victorian media wouldn't refer to the 'interstate' teams as a collective. Let's be very clear here, there is a big difference between the clubs from SA and WA compared to the clubs from NSW and QLD.

Only Five Clubs Profit Without Pokies - The Big 5?

The very fact that pokies are considered to be guaranteed sources of profit shows how evil they are. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure how they are legally able to exist.

    Vlad's salary for 2013 was $3.8 million

I think people are misunderstanding the figure of $3.8 million.

    Vlad's salary for 2013 was $3.8 million

I guess when I said any sort, I didn't mean any sort :p. But you know, proper, actual CEOs.

    the next AFL club

You are most certainly correct, re: Freo. However, I just don't get this obsession with pushing the limits of what a state can support. The AFL can back on these two teams to be self-sufficient and bring in large crowds. Why swap that for a poorly supported third team. Milan is big enough to...

    the next AFL club

Sure, just build a bigger stadium... ;P No, I guess not, it's just hard to imagine a third team being anything other than the redheaded step-child of WA football, if you know what I mean.

    Vlad's salary for 2013 was $3.8 million

The figure is misleading. His base salary at 'only' 1.4 million is pretty low for a CEO of any sort, let alone the CEO of the country's largest/most prosperous sport. You can't really count the bonuses because they are entirely conditional.

    the next AFL club

I'm not sure a third Perth team is a good idea... The battle lines are drawn, and very defined. At any rate, they are both farely stable clubs who can support themselves, which suggests that two teams is sufficient in Perth. Surely that is the goal.

Have Freo made a horrible mistake in their plans to relocate their HQ

You must be driving a wheelie bin... Seriously, I also used to live in the area and it never took more than 30 minutes to the city. Also, it's like 22-25 minutes on the train. It's 21.9km according to Google. To do the trip in one hour and fifteen minutes you'd be averaging about 16kmph. I know...

Have Freo made a horrible mistake in their plans to relocate their HQ

Do you really live in Perth? Your distances are a bit off. Cockburn is only about 20 minutes from the city and roughly the same to Fremantle. Not the most important point, but you make it sound like Fremantle is relocating to Dawesville or something.

The Image Of The Game and Criminal Acts

So you're one of those people who like to string together a bunch of theoretical maybes in order to make sweeping claims? The fact is, as it stands, Stephen Milne is innocent. Give me one concrete reason why he shouldn't be playing at the moment... What statistics show is irrelevant because once...

The Image Of The Game and Criminal Acts

Who are they kidding? They could do anything they want and people would still turn up in their 1000s. Do you really think that if Stephen Milne played this weekend, people wouldn't watch football? The fact is, footy is so ingrained in our culture, so strong as a business that nothing can harm...

The Image Of The Game and Criminal Acts

I believe the AFL has to stay the hell out of the Police's business. AFL clubs have no right to stand down a player for being charged with a crime. Being charged with a crime and being convicted of a crime are two very different things after all.
