finally got a chance to watch this race. an incredible crash that one. then an hour spent under yellow.
just the most amazing escape disappearing over the fence.
Good finish to the race too for the GT class. Everyone running out of fuel, last lap passes, cars spinning out. Awesome finish...
hindsight is a wonderful thing, but was that last pit-stop at the caution even worth it? We obviously don't know how bad his tyres were or whatever, but Kurt Busch got away without stopping, Marcos is a better road racer by about 500 times.
nevermind.
He was there, lucky Montoya, Busch and a...
ESPN coverage: urgh. full of advertisements.
Looking at the NASCAR facebook page, so many are calling for Fox to do all the races.
I guess complaints about television coverage isn't restricted to AFL games!
And Villeneuve with some bonehead move in the NNS race this morning at the start...
been watching the TNT Coverage. It appears to me, to be really disjointed coverage. Am i the only one who thinks that?
Should be a big weekend for Marcos this weekend. Infineon. Didn't he balls it up last year trying to save some juice?
The mighty Audi hung on!
What a ripper of a race. 2 and a half hours under yellow after Rockenfeller's crash, just on 75 minutes after McNish's crash. What a strange race.
By heck some of their safety standards need lifting - especially in the actual race course section itself.
it got me to re watch the Imola race on You Tube. someone has added the full race to You Tube, along with the Warm Up, Practice and Qualifying too.
It was the second race of F1 i ever properly watched (the Previous fortnights race at Aida was the first i ever properly watched)
Such a sad...
funny you say that JubJub, i thought exactly the same, it was probably the right decision though, everyone cleared out relatively quickly and didn't get in anyone's way.
Not a huge fan of Junior, but felt a touch sorry for him. But he said it right though when he suggested that he was lucky...
how good was that finish to the 600!
Out of Gas, Crashes, Spins. Earnhardt Jr fell about 500 yards short. Kahne fell a lap or so short after the green/white/checker.
But Kevin Harvick got there in the end. He has now won 3 races for the season, and led 9 laps in total.
Marcos Ambrose had...
oh well. we'll cheer her on when she gets beaten.
Saw in the Herald Sun yesterday that Kyle Busch got caught on the road travelling 200km/h in a 72 km/h speed limit area the other day. I guess he started knocking people off the road with a slight tap up the backside too.
i didn't know you could vote every hour!
i voted twice for him. i guess i had a bit more work to do.
He had a quick car too, 3 laps i reckon. 3 laps would have gotten him there.
a strategy to see who starts where? you should be able to try and go faster and faster in a qualifying session, not do one lap and see how it goes. Hamilton is a perfect example. Locks his front tyres then calls it a day. He should do another lap on another set of tyres - see if he can better it...
cheers guys
i figured it may have been something like that, but i was a bit confused. not sure if i like that or not, if you race enough surely you can score points! doesn't matter.
thanks guys
can someone explain to me how the Nationwide points work? The regular drivers aren't allowed to score points? Kyle Busch has won almost every race and yet only a few drivers have scored points - and he aint one of them!
the One coverage ended just as they stopped in the pit-lane and Harvick was unplugging himself from the car, just as he finished, they ended it.
I had to get onto the NASCAR website to see how it unfolded.
Busch's move though was stupid, it really was dumb. Delana will be having him though.
well Kyle Busch has gone back to his old ways, but not after a ripper of a win to Regan Smith who was absolutely brilliant in the last 20 or so laps after not pitting when most of the lead lap cars stopped at one of the final caution periods.
Bowyer, Busch and Harvick all had a coming together...
Mark's drives in the last race shows one thing in F1 in 2011: it's all about tyres.
If you have a crap qualification and you have a decent car, you can end up at the front at the end of the race because you've got about 3 more sets of tyres than anyone else.
they constanstly talked about the "Big one" at Dega, that occurs every time, there won't be so many "Big ones" with this style of racing because no-one is close together.
Can't wait to see the racing at Darlington like this, it could be something different!
i miss the old pack racing already. I think it was Jeff Gordon during the week said that the new drafting will get boring very quickly.
Can't deny the finish though. What a thriller.
i'm currently watching the race from Texas. On a few days delay :p was in Melbourne over the weekend so i recorded the race
while i'm thinking about it: is Martinsville the worst track in the series? you'd get better racing in my backyard. (although the last few laps were pretty good...
they had the '94 Brazilian GP on earlier.
The very next race that calendar year (Pacific GP) was the first ever F1 race i ever watched, so it was good seeing how the '94 season started. That crash in Brazil with Verstappen, Bernard, Irvine and Brundle was just amazing. Senna making a very...
5 years of Brazil ending the Championship - i reall don't believe that is tradition. How about 11 in Adelaide?
I think he can do it though. But there are so many challengers. Vettel, Hamilton, Button, Alonso. So many can win it, and it'll just depend on who does what when. The points system...
