Has 'jelly' replaced 'lol' ?

As the most effeminate, cringeworthy abbreviation used on the web.

Its use seems to be especially prevalent in the bay. Not a good sample I know, but each time I read that 'word', I vomit just a tiny bit in my mouth. As I am a bit older, maybe some of my younger hawk supporting brothers and sisters can enlighten me, can one use this abbreviation without detracting from their masculinity ?
