In a shocking turn of events, Neale Daniher has been sacked as Melbourne Head Coach and replaced by a new up and coming coach named Peter Williams who will overtake the reigns and try and take Melbourne to the top. He will cut the dead wood and make significant changes to try and make Melbourne the best club in the land.

And onto the Pre-Season we go...

Williams announces new coaching panel!

Peter Williams made his first move as coach by selecting a very experienced and strong coaching panel led by Assistant coach, Craig Lambert. Along with Lambert he appointed Christian Bird as Melbourne's Medical officer, Andre Stickells as Melbourne's Recruitment Officer and Kameron Emdin as Administration Staff. It looks to be a good season for the red and blue. :thumbsu:

Melbourne cut list

Russell Robertson and Adem Yze have retired from AFL footy this year after having very successful football careers at the Melbourne footy club. We wich them the best of luck for life after footy. In a major culling, Simon Godfrey, Ben Holland, Shannon Motlop, Alastair Nicholson, Phil Read and Daniel Ward were delisted.

Campbell Brown has made his way across to the MCG after being trade by Hawthorn in exchange for Chris Johnson who wanted a change of scenary after not getting enough game time at the Dees. Meanwhile Sam Fisher from St. Kilda will make up for the absence of Alastair Nicholson after he was traded for Heath Neville and Pick 57. Also, Mal Michael has joined his third club after being traded by Brisbane for Clint Bizzell and Pick 41. Melbourne coach Peter Williams was very happy with the deals.

Trade Summary:

IN'S: Campbell Brown, Sam Fisher & Mal Michael

OUT'S: Chris Johnson, Heath Neville, Clint Bizzell, Picks 41 & 57

National Draft Picks:

9# Alex Langsford (TF) - 197cm, 87kg

Already rumoured around as the best full forward ever, after he impressed at the Under 18's winning the TAC BOG Norm Smith after his eight goals for Calder Cannons. His attributes speak for themselves and no one would be surprised to see him win the Coleman Medal next season as he no doubt will really improve the Melbourne forward line immensly.

Overall - 77, Skills - 80, Speed - 67, Endurance - 60, Marking - 75, Spoiling - 79, Strength - 57, Goal Accuracy - 66, Offence - 73, Improvement - 4, Consistency - 56

25# Dominic Perkins (OB) - 182cm, 79kg

Dominic is a skillful, hard worker from Sturt who likes to pop up to kick a couple of important goals when his team needs him. Will play a few games this year with some improvement still to come and should see him as a reasonable player for the next decade. Definetly a handy addition to the squad. Only his Marking and strength lets him down.

Overall - 61, Skills - 77, Speed - 68, Endurance - 76, Marking - 12, Spoiling - 23, Strength - 14, Goal Accuracy - 67, Ball Getting - 70, Take Aways - 62, Tagging - 6, Improvement - 4, Consistency - 53

Six More Players to wear red and blue next year

Nick Malceski, Jarrad McVeigh, Elijah Ware, Rowan Jones, David Spriggs and Matthew Spencer have all joined the Melbourne footy club after either being delisted or quitting because of not enough game time. All are onballers except Matthew Spencer who is a Tall Forward. Good luck to all players for next season and beyond for the Melbourne Football Club.
