I tend to think Voss will be a very good, very great coach the second time around.

If only he went to the Eagles in 2009, would have got some experience and perhaps missed the most dysfunctional part of Brisbane's decade of consistently dysfunctional management.

Yeah true but those five years in a dysfunctional environment will have taught him a lot methinks and he there are some things he will not accept the second time around that he put up with when he was coach.

I'm a Voss fan of both the player and coach and he was getting better and better when he got sacked IMO.

It's a bit odd that Brent Guerra will get a half hour, and Vossy didn't get an hour.

Need more one hour specials, there were a few in the earlier seasons.

Mooney isn't quite in the same league as other ex players that have been on.
It's just going to be 25 minutes on him losing the 08 grand final and mentioning it every day since.

The show is so predictable in Mike's questioning.

It's the one reason why I don't want Mal Brown to be a guest. Will spend all 30 minutes talking about the blokes he snotted, as well as Campbell's indiscretions.

There'd be no mention of him being AA captain in 1972, a Sandover Medallist, two-time WAFL Premiership coach, a player who played at every key position on the ground with equal success.

Guerra was good, but not a lot you could really ask him.

You could tell that Mike was running out of material when he came out with the "did you know that you are currently ranked 143,128 on the all-time games played list at Hawthorn".....

His whack on Thommo was the most interesting part of the interview. Waiting impatiently for Grant's response via twitter...

He gave him a shirt front after the first bounce and then said something like "you got what you deserved you red haired ****". The TV mics picked it up.
Stephen Powell said that as he stood over Ling, while standing on the mark.

They didn't even show his best bump when he demolished Schammer @ Subi while with the Saints.

What made it more notable was that he only came in to shirtfront Ling's head once his arms were pinned in a tackle and couldn't move.

Once a coward, always a coward. Pity you couldn't have played alongside Matthews or Balme you gutless piece of s**t.

Neil Balme went to Norwood as a non-playing coach in 1980, but returned to the field in 1981 for one more season before retiring for good.
Probably not in the 'champion' category, but a pretty solid player for Richmond and R/U in their 1977 B&F.
And in his first year of coaching (1980) Balme took Norwood from being in a hopeless position at the halfway point of the season to get within 18 points of Port in the grand final. Not bad when you consider the Redlegs were in fifth spot, and no one in the SANFL gave them a hope of making the grand final, especially when there was the likes of Port, Glenelg and Sturt in the finals as well.

1984 was very similar story but we went one better to win the flag (and beat Port) from 5th.
Made the finals every year with Balmey, but unfortunately finishing 3rd was the common result.

The interesting about the respective grand finals of 1980 was whereas Collingwood hit the wall by quarter time in the VFL grand final of 1980 and lost by 81 to Richmond, Norwood on the other hand pushed Port all the way and only lost by 3 goals. And both teams came from 5th on the ladder in their respective leagues and made it to the grand final.
