Essendon Football Club V North Melbourne Football Club- Round 7, 7:50p.m. Ethiad Stadium

But at least we know what number Colyer wears. Marvellous. :drunk:

Is Patrick Cripps the AFL's next Superstar?

I would include Fyfe in the 'replacing X, Y and Z' as opposed to being replaced, he is only 23 (2.5 years older than JOM). Cripps will be an incredibly good player, but can't see him ever being the superstar of the competition. Exquisite talent though, could easily be a JPK level player.

Next flag - Carlton, Essendon or Richmond?

If you had said after the 2004 season that Hawthorn would play in 4 grand finals and win 3 in the next 10 years... Would not say that any are contenders as things stand, but 10 years? Geez. :$

    Alex Rance

You'd have to feel for Richmond if he did end up leaving. Other 'big fish' that have moved through free agency have not been hugely heartbreaking as a rule. Players like Frawley and Goddard left teams that were rebuilding anyway and were only useful for the tutelage of young players. Franklin...

AFL Player 7: Indefatigable Zach Merrett (c) Wins 6th Crichton Medal - Congratulations Zach

There was a passage of play yesterday where we got a clearing kick from the press and had Zach and 3 Hawks chasing the ball down to our 50. Pressured so hard and held the ball up until the reinforcements came. Unfortunately the later players to the contest couldn't consolidate his work, but it...

Autopsy What have you liked, hated and learnt from Round 2?

Liked: Doggies getting up again, particularly Bontempelli. Dons opened the bank. Hated: Lambert getting injured in his debut. Battled longer than most to see his opportunity and would have been eager to capitalise, then gets hurt. Learnt: Ablett does not look right, seems hesitant at...

AFL Toast Bombers Down The Hawks 12.6 to 11.10

Have not felt this good about a win in such a long time. To claw back that lead when they must have been just about out on their legs shows how determined they were not to let another game slip. The scarf wave with Sheedy doing a lap was sensational.

Toast Pick 56 - Welcome to Hawthorn, James Sicily

This kid is seriously impressive, have followed him for some time now. Will seriously expose teams third defender once he pieces it together at the highest level, much in the way that Gunston did when he first broke onto the scene. Rarely see a sort with the combination of composure and...

    Dustin Martin v Dyson Heppell

Impossible to split them really, neither team would trade their guy for the other guy, and that's the way it should be. They're entirely different players, Martin isn't - and likely won't ever be - a pure midfielder, and Heppell is nothing but. Martin is a powerful burst player, while Heppell is...

Jumper numbers guessing game: 2015 edition

I like Langford in 30, our literal replacement for Ryder. :p

Toast Pick 56 - Welcome to Hawthorn, James Sicily

I thought his best form came late in the season. After coming back from being dropped from the VFL side he had a great finish to the H&A season and a very good finals series. Love the look of Sicily, have been keen on him since before he was drafted and I hope he develops into a consistent...

    Fletch rolls on

I think Vic Cumberland, from long before the game was even semi-professional.

    Rate Bryce Gibbs

Pendles is obviously A-Grade, I haven't listed everyone there, just a few names to give an idea of the letter grade, as everyone seems to have different standards. Have seen some where there are 6 A grade tiers with GAJ on A+++++...

    Rate Bryce Gibbs

A- type player for me. Career best season, a couple more with slight improvements and sustaining that output and he'll be in that A grade. For referential purposes, I'd have the Watson, Selwood, Mitchell, JPK tier as A grade. GAJ the only A+. A- is Dangerfield, Hannebery, etc.

Preview 2nd Elimination Final: North Melbourne vs Essendon, MCG, Saturday 6th of September, 7.15PM

Blitz is a polar split of very informed, intelligent football supporters, and lunatics.
