AFL Shop in Knox City Shopping Centre (Vic) is having a closing down sale. Went in this weekend to buy a new WCE hat for my wife and got told they're not getting anything new in and clearing everything out. Unsure how much longer they have but the staff didn't seem too pleased (of course).
20 years on and not much has changed for Fitzroy, with the exception of the now-yellow cuffs and collar, and a variant of the 1995-96 pre-season top as their away/clash.
Home is a combination of the Kangas uniform and Roys colours.
Clash is a combination/variation of the Kangas 1995 pre-season uniform and the Roys 1995-96 pre-season uniforms.
I don't mind the current Brisbane clash, with the exception of the side panels (why Majestic, why?)
Hopefully next season the new manufacturer will keep the design, slightly modified.
For my design, I borrowed the Queensland NRL SoO colours, and gave a slight twist to the regular look of the side panels (ie the mix of colours at the bottom).
I know the collar is off (not very late-80's) but I thought the team might go for a fresh approach upon it's entry into the competition...
I know not everyone's a fan of Paddles, and I think there was some indifference to the Big M logo from the 90's, but I think the mixed designs work.
EDIT: Logo now included.
I purchased this long-sleeve home guernsey from the Lions Shop over the weekend, and it arrived in the mail today.
I'm pretty happy that it fits nicely (sometimes you just can't tell from an online purchase) and I'll more than likely purchase a long-sleeve version of the 2015 season guernsey...
I remember speaking with staff at South Melbourne Soccer Club in the early 2000's who said they didn't have any option but to take what the manufacturer offers them. I've always thought that was a strange way to do business, especially when the club strip is one of it's most important features...
I wonder if HairMate in Lilydale still has that signed photo of Robbie Flower on display?
Whilst I'm too young to have seen him play, when we'd get our haircuts I used to look up at that photo and smile.
