    List Mgmt. 2020 List Management

So long story short, players who are best 22, don’t leave clubs and become best 22 In a role they think they suit better, except potentially on the very odd occasion and not really something we should particularly worry about. Move on, it’s a ridiculous notion.

His brother is going to be a serious player also. Would love to somehow pry him out of Geelong

Agreed. With his size and athleticism he can clearly play up forward also. Seems like he has a fair bit of versatility about him which is nice. I particularly enjoyed his centre ruck work. I’ve read a bit of criticism on here about it, so I wasn’t expecting much. But he clearly had Nic Nat...

I’ll admit, I haven’t watched TDK play much in the VFL, so judgment from one game should really be restrained. But bugger me, if he’s not more a ruckman than a forward then maybe I’m just not watching football right.

Agree, although ‘ordinary’ may be a tad harsh. He’s not brilliant. But he’s not bad. I’d have him a touch over average mark for a player his size. I’m constantly impressed by his ability to not only halve marking contests/ground ball contests 1v1 but half them 1v2. You’re right, it’s his...

He’s following a very similar trajectory to Jobe Watson. Slow 3rd talk fwd with strong inside mid traits. Even the wayward kicking is similar early in Jobe’s career. Let’s hope he turns out to be as good (without assisted help)

    Strategy The midfield

Yep, 100% correct. I’d forgotten about that. Certainly explains the slower development 👍

Taranto - pick 2, strong bodied junior. Maybe come on a bit better than expected, but not significantly Hopper - would have gone close to pick 1 if not for academy. Was a bull junior who if anything has come on slower than expected Perrymen - Pick 14, never really been a bonafide mid and won’t...

    Strategy The midfield

Not a mystery to me to be honest. Somewhere between 2-4y time, our midfield will consist of Cripps, Dow, Walsh as first choice stoppage (with Walsh rotating to a wing with Setterfield). Stocker and Dow interchangeable. Kemp rotating with Cripps and just generally being used wherever needed in a...

Not really making the point that we do or don’t need him, more the logic in not going after a player because we have someone ‘similar’...

    Strategy The midfield

No one is saying do something that doesn’t feel right (Would have thought this goes without saying). But this is what coaches are paid for, to understand players strengths and utilise them to full effect, wherever that may be. Of course there has to be some sort of practicality to it. That’s...

    Strategy The midfield

It is about identifying when a certain element in a current situation is lacking eg pace, contested possession etc etc. and then recognising elements in certain players that aren’t necessarily recognised as ‘full time mids’ that can assist with that, as well as surprise opposition game plans...
