    Which team should I support?

Big Mets fan myself, my father worked for a baseball clothing manufacturing firm and the first thing I got was a Mets jacket. Been loyal to them ever since. Watching us lose yet again to the Yankees live on Sunday morning wasn't much fun.

    Congratulations Man City

Yep, and at that time we were part of the equivalent of today's 'big four' and we spent an absolute fortune in 1950's terms. Eventually the club was done for illegal payments, and it started a decline from which we really didn't recover until Niall Quinn took over. Money doesn't guarantee...

    Congratulations Man City

It was mainly because United fan's sang Blaydon Races throughout the game (Newcastle's anthem.) I hope they enjoyed our response :D

The Official 2011-2012 Scottish Football Thread

Hibs now safe with a 4-0 win over Dunfermline, thank heavens for that. 4th goal was disgracefully allowed when it was nowhere near crossing the line, but we'll take it. Over 15,000 at ER (wish they turned up every week) and made a great atmosphere which lifted the team. Now we can concentrate...

According to 5 Live and the SMB message Board, Martin O'Neill has accepted the job. Awesome news, he supported us a boy and has always retained his affection for the club. Match made in heaven?? Lets hope so!

Totally agree, I thought we should have started with Zenden, given us a bit of midfield quality that we were so obviously lacking. Having said that, Malbranque actually tried his guts out all day, one of the very few who did. Anton Ferdinand and Benty had an absolute stinker. On a lighter...

    The BigFooty Sunderland Thread

Haven't celebrated a goal like Gyan's last night for a long, long time. Woke the missus up with my mate and myself running around the house screaming like idiots! :thumbsu: In the cold light of day though, a terrible performance from the lads. We were very, very lucky. At least its another...

Why You Go for Your Club(s)

From Gosforth in enemy territory (Newcastle) but Dad was a Newcastle Gosforth RUFC (now the Newcastle Falcons) fan who couldn't have cared less about Newcastle United whereas Mum's a diehard Mackem. Went to Roker Park at about 10 years of age and that was it.

clubs you hate to your core

Newcastle, no reason needed. The very sight of someone wearing their shirt makes me sick. Losing 5-1 to that shower was the worst moment of my football life, vengeance is only 2 weeks away however.

state league knockout series is on the cards -

And all those people who are seemingly so obsessed with this competition, that even the AFL admit the details of which are not finalised, are already AFL fans. If you want a national competition, here's a tip; watch the AFL. You really need to read the reasons why the top 5 clubs wanted...

state league knockout series is on the cards -

In a word, no. We're scared of possibly losing our best players via injury (and a susbequent assault on the premiership) on a game we couldn't really care less about.

    Centrals again!

Think all the clubs suffer from this, not just the Legs. Each year at the GF we seem to get around 15-20,000 fans appear out of nowhere. Considering our average home attendance at around the 3-4,000 mark over the last 5 years it makes you wonder where they come from. I understand many people...

9 premierships in 11 years *MB Thread*

Re: 9 premierships in 11 years Most laughably bitter post I've ever seen on BigFooty or yourself. And I include your laughable SA Footy posts in that. Norwood have won about 6-7 flags since Hitler died. The vast (and I mean vast) majority of Norwood's flags came before any semblance of...
