2026 player moves - ins and outs, signings and departures

"We’re excited to announce that Corey ‘CJ’ Preston will be joining the Boronia Hawks Football Club for the 2026 season". Locked in as rumoured, but the $ were exaggerated. Good pick up Noddy.

2026 player moves - ins and outs, signings and departures

You are correct! No female players at Boronia received match payments for EFNL games in 2025, nor other remuneration such as sign-on fees or performance bonuses. I can't answer for 2026, but I expect that some clubs, like Boronia, will explore the possible use of the modest women's salary cap.

I'm sorry to say that you are not hearing solid gold intelligence on this one!

NOW to sometime later in the year (maybe) - Talk about anything

Just in case anyone jumps to an incorrect conclusion, Boronia is not paying any of their women's players in 2025.

Boronia has been there before, many times over recent years. Our thinking will continue to be about building a strong pathway that retains and attracts players at junior and youth level. It doesn't always pan out well, but I suspect that most clubs would probably have a similar approach. Thanks...

Boronia has recently struggled with junior numbers like many other clubs. The club now has a number of homegrown bottom age 19's for next year who are keen to continue their footy with their mates and move from the juniors to seniors at the one club. However, there are not enough of those...

2025 player moves - ins and outs

Your source was incorrect and was speaking more with hope than knowledge! Boronia has a good relationship with Liam, but a Premier Division team would always be an attractive proposition.

No, the funding covers the pavilion only. The surface at Tormore was generally good throughout this season but clearly didn't cope with the wear and tear of the Division 1 finals series and the sustained heavy rain overnight and during the grand final day. Some suggest the grass was cut too...

All major infrastructure projects from the outgoing government were subject to assessment by the incoming government. That's a normal process. Many projects were scrapped, but the Tormore Reserve project was approved on its merits.

    Div 2 2026

Thanks for your kind words. Like all the Boronia Faithful, I am very happy tonight and extremely proud of the club and our players, coaches, volunteers and sponsors. A lot of hard work by some very good people has been rewarded. GO HAWKA!!!

All is on track. Demolition of the existing pavilion is due to commence soon after the completion of the Division 1 finals series at Tormore Reserve. The construction work has been put to tender and is expected to commence in early October 2024. The club presented the detailed plans for the new...

Just to clarify Bunk, the ENFL receives the gate takings for finals. Host clubs retain the net takings on bar, canteen and BBQ and pay a licence fee to the league for the right to host finals, amongst other operating costs. Profitability of the finals series is generally dependent on the...

NOW to sometime later in the year (maybe) - Talk about anything

Boronia identified a gap in our junior numbers back in 2017 that would put our future Under 19's at risk. As one club, juniors and seniors, we worked very hard to build our junior numbers to fill that gap, but junior players were prepared to join other clubs when they they thought Boronia would...
