    Injury Murray Hall of Pain

Nick Murray concussed Butts crashing the pack at least once. I believe it was an away game at Geelong. Evidence on AFLTables suggests that it was Round 11 2022. When Butts was subbed off early and didn't return until Round 14. But I didn't review the video or anything.

    Our greatest ever captain

I split the full-time captains into two groups. Dawson is definitely in the good half. But I don't think it's possible to assess where he ranks until after the fact. And he's too intertwined with Nicks' coaching for mine to be completely uncritical. The bad half are players who were only...

Review R14: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly v Western Bulldogs

He equalled the record of 5 goal assists. Andrew McLeod and Eddie Betts also have a 5 goal assist game. (bear in mind this is a relatively new post-1999 stat)

Game Day Rnd 14: Bulldogs vs Crows at Marvel

He's been good if you ignore the errors leading to Bulldogs goals (and the error leading to a Crows goal through good luck) or the bits where he lets his opponent with the ball walk away unopposed.

Is Soligo still physically limited? Or is the problem between the ears at this point.

Welcome Welcome to Adelaide - Archie Ludowyke, Pick 50 2025

He's a way off. With the clubs injury management this year though, it's plausible he could sneak an emergency spot and then be needed if someone else gets injured at the last minute.

Tex rubbed out for a push

Nankervis should have got a week for a similar, but IMHO more deliberate, action against North. Nobody got hurt in that incident though, and the AFL has lost the appetite for "risk of injury" suspensions. Players wouldn't be pushing the boundaries if the rule was consistently enforced. Walker...

Tex rubbed out for a push

Dumb by Walker and lucky it wasn't worse. If Dawsons injury was worse the "impact" could have gone higher and both of them miss multiple weeks.

Review R13: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly vs. Geelong Cats

Notable difference between MacAndrew's calm intelligent play at the end, smartly grabbing the ball out of the ruck to eat the clock. knowing holding the ball is nearly impossible in that situation.... compared to Murray rucking against nobody and still swinging at fresh air.

Cricket Thread: Aus vs Bangladesh test series... just 4 months away

Melbourne 1 + 2 was always the wrong call. Melbourne and a Geelong team would have been smarter. I doubt that will happen now either. It will be Melbourne Normal and MI Melbourne Challenging Cybernightrunners or whatever. Amusingly it's the Renegades being sold off, when it was originally the...

    Player Watch Charlie Edwards

His next two games after that were his two best though Personally I think he was worked out at AFL level after exactly one kick, but it helped that he was defensively disciplined. But the weird popular opinion switch was in his final year at the club.

    Player Watch Charlie Edwards

I never understood why Parnell suddenly switched to the most hated player overnight. I also don't understand why Edwards is presumed to have no way back (other than that 1.5 of his 2 games were not good)

    Opinion Matthew Nicks: Adelaide's Coach (Part 4) - Re-Signed to 2027...

I still believe that the surprise success of Ben Keays was the only reason the Crows performance didn't come under more scrutiny in 2020. Without Keays success, shoving the not very young trio of Ben Crocker, Billy Frampton, and Ben Keays into the Crows side seems highly dubious in hindsight...

    Player Watch Josh Rachele

I still think Rachele would be at his best as a true full forward, and given as much licence and space to work in as possible. I'm not saying never play him in the midfield. But he would do the most damage as the main presence in the forward line.
