Every situation is different and I do think it’s worth putting “a line in the sand” regarding players leaving at times even if in theory you’d get more for trading them right away...

We have no compulsion but good organisations regularly checkin with their employees to see how they’re going, if they’re motivated and what they want, even if it means what they want is to leave.

It would be stupid to push him out the door, but I think the club should initiate a conversation about wanting him to have the career he wants and therefore would try to support making it happen whatever that is.
