    This wasnt a 50 metre penalty paid or not paid but has any mention been made of the umpires decision to not pay advantage when Cam Rayner “took” the advantage and missed the goal only for the umpire to give the Lions another shot? A wrong decision for mine but has this been confirmed?

    It would never work. We have identified him as a forward and that’s where he has to be played to learn his craft. Imagine if we had taken a 19 year old Zaine Cordy from the backline and plonked him at CHF. Disaster written all over it.

    Pleased with good reports on Sanders. Not so pleased with the kick to handball ratio ( 9k 14 hb) but very early days. Really looking forward to him cementing himself in the starting 18.

    I thought his performance in the 2016 GF was memorable. I can’t remember what the voting was in the Norm Smith but imo Boyd was unlucky not to win it. Playing well in a GF gives you a lifetime of credits I would say.

    I have a different take. I was surprised at (my perception from 3000 kms away) Lobbs lack of intensity and lack of hardness in the contest. These are attitudes I thought a player either has or doesn’t and can be prepared for from the start.

    Thanks. Nothing against the kid but him being in a NGA or like the Ashcroft (?) kids or Luke Hodges boy in the Brisbane academy they were always going to be AFL players and the academy makes no difference. It’s a farce but AFL says “ nothing to see here”
