Martin was top-2 on the ground in a final 9 times from 16 finals. Thus far Naicos is zero times from 7.
So Naicos would need to be top-2 on the ground in his next 9 x finals to draw level with Martin's finals performances...oh...and win 3 x Ayres Awards and 3 x Norm Smiths in the process.
Can...
Mihocek is the only decent quality KPF in that group. Last time he missed a chunk of games was 2024 and Pies missed finals.
I just don't think you can go from a really poor scoring team for the last 10-weeks of 2025, lose your best KPF, have your best small forward continue AWOL and expect to...
In recent seasons I think the Eagles are bringing in far too many middling players with minimal upside: Schoenberg, Robertson, Owies, Macrae, Graham, Young, Brockman....
No, defence is absolutely vital. Pies defence is/was excellent. But if you can't score you are not beating Lions, Cats or Gold Coast to name a few in 3 or 4 consecutive finals. Lions are a far superior team than when you beat them in 2023..as are Geelong and Gold Coast....defence alone...
I think the Pies defence is elite (injuries permitting). Moore, Howe, Maynard, Houston and Quaynor is excellent.
Their midfield/wings are very good albiet overly reliant on 'golden oldies' in Pendles, Sidey and Crisp. These guys cannot continue to play to the level they have (Crisp aside)...
For the Eagles 'future prospects' to be brighter than Richmond, the reality is they will need to hope draftees don't perform relative to the draft position in which they were taken. If all players were robots and we could just lock in performance where pick-1 is the best, pick-2 second best and...
I can 100% tell you it's not true. But I don't take the accusation personally....because I've got no idea who you are and it's a footy forum where we all speak sh*te, so who really cares about anything in here. If I feel I need some support I won't hesitate to engage my mates from my...
Yes, refreshing the forward line is definitely required with an eye to the future, but not if trying to contend for a flag.
Top-5 goal averages in 2025:
Elliott: 2.40
Mihocek: 1.64
Hill: 1.43
Membrey: 1.39
McStay: 1.06
McReery is a half a goal a game man. Schulz a goal a game. DeGoey...
The Noidnadroj alias contained personal info, so I changed to Sherekhan early 2025. What an exciting yet disappointing story for you.
So just one account for me at a time....ever. But thanks for caring ;-)
Think logically.....let's say he did nothing at all. Totally innocent. On what planet does an innocent person request the UBER receipt from his mate and doctor it up ? That thought would never in a million years enter an innocent person's head.
The girl would've been offered literally...
Neale has played 25/26/26/22 games in the last 4-years.
In 2025, there were 10 x mids 32yo+ who attended 20%+ CBA's and played 10+ games: Danger, Greene, Libba, Neale, Prestia, Sidey, Parker, Pendles, Shiel, Coniglio. If we extend to 31yo+ you can add Williams, McIntosh, O'Meara, Macrae...
Interesting… I have a similar number of Tigers (aged 27yo or under now) who ‘should’ still be on the list in 2030. Injury permitting I have only 10-11 absolute locks…. so players like Ross, Mansell, Smillie, Grlj, Cumming, Gibcus, Sims etc.. ‘should’ be on the list, but I can’t count them as...
So why would you get the likes of Baker, Graham, Young if that’s the expectation?
In 2023 Hawks looked very much a long way off contending and still only midway through rebuild … Sicily, Amon and Impey were all 28yo (Gunston 32yo).
Sicily, Amon and Impey all look to have 3+ seasons left.
