    Preview Round 7, 2024 : Hawks v Swans, 4pm Sunday 28th April, MCG

At least there's a degree of honesty there, but it sounds as though they're preparing us for the inevitable. Just hope it's not something more sinister that he'll have to manage all season. We saw how that worked out in the first few rounds.

Lizard V Weddle. You could almost promote that on Main Event.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn, Changkuoth Jiath - 2017 category B rookie

It's just so sad. Whenever he gets close to a recall, something else literally pops up, or out. Groin, hammy, quad. He's almost 25 now. So much time wasted with injury, that it's only natural to ask questions. AFL is a tough gig. I just don't trust the durability of either CJ's or Lewis' bodies...

Any news on why Jiath was withdrawn?

He's not the lone ranger. I know last weak ... I mean week... was as low as it gets, but Chol has scarred me. Not only because of his dropped marks, but because of his lethargy & total lack of footy nous. In the last, the ball was in dispute in the fwd pocket. Rather than try & impact the play...

He kicked 6 goals in a game last year. Can't recall any Hawks even getting close to that, but perhaps I'm wrong.

Butler was a no brainer. Although he's not quite ready, I'm perplexed with the dropping of Ramsden. Reckon he would straighten us up against North & would have been a show against Nuyon. Can't count on Chol whatsoever. He's as reliable as the Melbourne weather. Ward should've stayed & C...

FWIW ... Channel 9 just reported that Lewis will miss another week with his bloody knee. I acknowledge that the club said he'll be tested on Friday though.

Unless he's injured, Newc won't be omitted. Despite his form, he still has the capacity to turn the game on it's head. The others do not. It would be a fatal mistake to drop him.

I'd be surprised if Lewis gets up. We've been reading these injury updates for years, & flagging that it's a test but he "might require another week" ordinarily means it's another week! Hope I'm wrong.

News Hawthorn in the media 2024

It's not an odd stance. That's why coaches have been baking their players for years. It challenges them. It dares them to ... "do something". Nothing else has worked, we deserve it & it might actually serve a purpose. I'm hoping it does! Judging by some of the players' efforts, body language &...

Yes ... the hammy was the presenting issue & then they realised the knee was a little sore (classic Hawthorn grumbly knee type scenario). No formal diagnosis offered. Hope he's back this week, but not overly confident.

Agree. Him or Daysy, but I'm actually floored. Who the * opts to sit out drills & who the * condones that sort of behaviour? That is just piss poor from the club.

Autopsy Round 5, 2024 - Suns destroy hopeless Hawks

You're missing the point mate. No one really expected a win. Like anything in life, it's how you go about it that matters. We can make all the excuses we like, but we're a rudderless ship, & even with a 10 day break I anticipate we would have been just as lost. It's the bigger picture stuff...

Also said those types of games should be behind us. Makes me think he has well & truly over estimated our list & development. There should be some courageous conversations at the club this week. Both on & off the field.
