Terry Zarchi, the son of writer-director Meir Zarchi, made a documentary a few years ago called 'Growing Up With I Spit On Your Grave' (2019). It's also available on Tubi. The doco recounted a real life incident Zarchi witnessed that inspired him to write the script. I was surprised to learn...
Most Aussie movies are quirky, low budget shite but a couple I like are The Interview (1998), with cracking performances from Hugo Weaving and Tony Martin, and Fast Talking (1984), an underrated gem with Steve Bisley in a small role.
I'd love to see a sequel to The Big Steal (1990) with Bisley...
Yep. HBO's The Last of Us has a similar budget but that had plenty of special effects and CGI. Anyway, with his track record Gilligan could have pitched any half-baked idea and every studio would have given him a blank cheque.
I wondered the same thing. She does have some leverage knowing (a) they would have to tell her truthfully where her eggs were being stored and (b) how destructive she can be if she goes scorched Earth on the hive.
Probably the same thing her parents said when she was sent to conversion therapy...
Apparently season 2 could be two years away. Bummer.
For all there is to love about this series I do think the story could have been moved along a little quicker.
I can see this ending on a cliffhanger. A second series has already been commissioned.
And where are all the children? Despite their bizarre willingness to accept and even embrace this new reality, McBoner and the other unaffected at least seem to be more inquisitive than Carol. If I was on a...

You can't make this shit up. Unless, of course, you make this shit up.
I Swear (2025)
A moving and very funny true story about a Scottish lad (John Davidson) with Tourette's Syndrome who was given an MBE for raising public awareness of the condition. The performances across the board are outstanding, especially Robert Aramayo in the lead. One of the best films...
Inconceivable!
I've re-watched a few Robert Redford movies since he passed away a couple of months ago. The latest was 'All Is Lost' (2013), about a solo yachtsman who gets into strife at sea. Redford is the only cast member and his presence holds the screen like few actors can.
There is also the disturbing thought that when you sleep with someone - like Casanova McBoner with his supermodels - you're kind of sleeping with everyone... the bloke next door, your grandmother, your nephew. No interaction or intimacy with the 'others' is private.
Reminds me of Louis CK...
One Battle After Another (2025)
Cracking movie, maybe not the masterpiece many critics have called it but barely a dull minute over it's 2.5 hour running time. Fun to see Sean Penn ham it up in one of his better roles in years.
Binged the first two seasons of UK Traitors. Really enjoyable, thanks for the recommendation. Might watch the third series and track down the Aussie/NZ ones too.
So pleased Coogan keeps revisiting this character. For completists who love all things Partridge he has recorded several audiobooks in recent years - Alan Partridge: From The Oast House (Series 1-4).
Never seen Traitors before this series but I watch a lot of UK TV and know most of the...
