The longer this goes the better it is for the Saints. Essendon can pretend to have bargaining power all they want but they don't. They will have to accept under what he is worth or nothing.

Essendon are not in a position to get a fair deal, they are in a take what they can get position. Unless Carlisle is open to teams other then the Saints Essendon will not be in a position to demand anything.
I think he will end up at the Saints, probably through the PSD due to Essendons stubbornness. Doing deals with Hawthorn is irrelevant if the player holds firm in his desire to play for us.
Essendon will have to take what ever we offer them or lose Carlisle for nothing.
